GilesHabibula: But in this case, knowing so little about the finished game, even if there would be a "deactivate timer" mod available, I think I will instead try the game as intended first.

In the past with other games, I was sometimes pleasantly surprised with "features" I totally didn't think I would like.

There must be a good reason it was designed this way, so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and try it the way the designers intended it first. I'll put some trust in their expertise before I go with my gut reaction, because my gut reaction tends to be totally out of context with regard to the game itself, as my gut really knows nothing about how the game was created, and how everything fits together.
You are, of course, absolutely right. I should've worded that better, as in I'd like to have the option to disable the timer, as it sounds like the generational aspect is a fairly major one.

(Good luck, devs!)

The generation stuff is quite a while off yet, as we are building the game from Prologue forwards and getting a lot of the tools and setup ready first.
There should easily be enough time to do what you need to do. I personally can't see the point in disabling time, as that's what the whole game is about really.
I think that a mod that does that will appear, but we won't be adding such a feature to the game (and we are all for modding btw).

You have no idea just how much this gamer can and likes to dawdle. :p

Thank you for replying, and pretty much confirming what I expected. I definitely did not want or expect you devs to put in the option to disable the timer, and I will be playing it normally for a while at least. Could be there's enough time to satisfy even my penchant for bumbling around, so such a mod ends up unnecessary. Could be no one decides to create this mod, so I'd have to just suck it up and not mess around so much.

November 8 is coming up soon... ;)

It is really nice to see the devs interacting in the forum
Also you can ask the GOG staff to give your accounts developer specific Orange text.

I would like to tell you that the game looks beautiful and you should take your time before releasing the final version.
And I hope the game will have a well developed story.

Thank you for your kind words.
We will definitely take our time, and any money made will be put towards the resources needed to help finish it with a better quality (hiring a friend who is an ex-Lionhead A.I wizard for example).
The story will not be in your face, and not your typical one, but will hopefully be interesting....
