Just wondering if there is a reason any of the Dungeon Siege games have not made it to GOG or if GOG plans on adding them? It would be awesome to see a remaster of these games!
GoG would have to make a deal with the publisher, Microsoft. As of yet that has not happened and I'm sure GoG has tried. If Microsoft doesn't agree they won't show up here. It would be nice since it would mean Freelancer would come as well.

Actually it's Square Enix not Microsoft, and Square Enix wants nothing to do with GOG anymore because they only used GOG to get the Eidos old games running on new machines, and now that GOG fixed up them up, Squeenix will just stick with Steam and GOG will die out because no publishers want anything to do with GOG anymore and even indies won't update their games and sadness and death and cryingness...

It'd be far better if Square Enix died instead. Then another publisher would grab the Squeenix licenses, make a deal with GOG and we'd get them here.

;)
According to this:

http://dungeonsiege.wikia.com/wiki/Gas_Powered_Games

Square Enix only partnered with Gas Powered Games to create Supreme Commander. Take-Two Interactive has the publishing rights for Dungeon Siege. They fairly recently started releasing games on GoG and are still doing so albeit slowly. It might show up here eventually - hopefully with Max Payne and BioShock as well.

[EDIT] The Hidden and Dangerous games were the latest released on GoG - only last month. The Civilization games were released in November a few months before. So it's slow but at least they're releasing games here so I'm happy.

That first game was hard to get through.

Am I the only one who thought it was a tad monotonous?

That is fucked up. Why is there so much hostility towards GOG from these publishers?

Yes, this a million times. It's 10 hours of running through a hallway while everyone on your party auto-attacks. I never saw the appeal of Dungeon Siege 1.

Can't speak for the sequels.

It was a tad CTD on me. A lot of times. Couldn't finish the game for the hole in the screen. Also, completely unrelated, my hand hurt.

Ahem.

DUNGEON SIEGE is a registered trademark of Square Enix, Inc. SQUARE ENIX and the SQUARE ENIX logo are registered trademarks or trademarks of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd.

Also.

Just to be clear, I was adding in some of my trademark hyperbole in the post above. The simple fact is GOG doesn't bring in much money compared to Steam, so most devs or pubs don't want to bother. DRM-free is still a sticking point for some (like Square Enix Japan and other Japanese pubs), and GOG's infrastructure for patching and multiplayer is still lacking and some devs don't want the hassle.

Damn, figuring who owns rights to what has always driven me up the wall. Square Enix hasn't released anything here in a while. Doesn't bode well for Dungeon Siege coming here then.
I liked the games on principle but when I played them my interest just sort of petered out. I never could get through those games. I like the idea of them but they just weren't too much fun. Dungeon Siege II and III were improvements over the first but they were still kind of meh. Just not interesting....failed to hold my interest. Diablo and Divinity both do it much better. I finally got a pc that could run Divinity Original Sin Enhanced and I'm loving it. Larian Studios always puts a lot of detail into their games. Their first Divinity game was a combination of say Diablo and Morrowind. You could pretty much interact with nearly everything. It was almost too much just looting a single house for all the kitchenware lol.

I remember the game when it released - I'm pretty sure I even played a demo and enjoyed that short time with it.

But I do think a lot of the complaints (both gamer chatter and official reviews) had to do with the game being a bit "unfun" and that it "played itself" at times. So I can see tad monotonous being a real concern.

That said, I think it's a game I'd pick up eventually if it showed up here. I was interested in it all those years ago and never did get a chance to give it a proper go. Even better, if this shows up, maybe that'll mean I can double dip on both it AND Freelancer on the same day! Wishful thinking right?

Ixamyakxim: Wishful thinking right?
My wishful thinking goes further. I'd love to get my hands on Dungeon Siege 2's Expansion in digital form legally. Alas right now it's not possible anywhere.
