As someone who live in Argentina I can answer that question, the game cost the same for us, $30 but the final price with taxes and other things, increase the price to the double or more because taxes are over 100%, in some provinces even 125%.
Foreign people think we have cheaper games because regional prices, but the truth is that sometimes cost more for us than in other places.
Steam had a really cheap regional price, very outdated, but recently they changed those prices and many games cost a lot more.
How does this fit with all of this? I don't know, but for me is a really negative point for Factorio, I won't paid that amout for a game like that, in the end it's just less sales for the game, not more.

So you get shown one price in the store, then at checkout the absurd tax is added?
Apart from not having discounts, Factorio doesn't have regional pricing on GOG (those <8% differences can be ignored, as they stem from the site doing currency conversion).

This change everyday, always for worse.

I can look up the exchange rate myself (though the explanation in regard to the "dolar blue" and the10,5% VAT was useful).

I can understand a price increase with future games from the developer, but unless it's a game that has been getting continued support, it's hard to justify a price increase.

As much as I enjoy video games, it's one of the first things I would cut back if money if my financial situation took a hit. When I was without a job for months, due to the business being shut down during the pandemic, stopped buying games.

FWIW Factorio has been getting regular updates almost every month. Including two this month.

Yeah, but after v1.1.00 it mostly has been a lot of small polish updates, not comparable with how it was before.
(Which makes sense, since they are working on the expansion.)

I agree - I think that you're safe assuming when people use the $ character, they mean USD.

If someone means a different currency that uses the $ symbol locally, then in UK, International and Business English, it is expected that they define it with the three letter international currency abbreviation. e.g. AUD for the Aussie Dollar. Otherwise, the person using the $ symbol is just asking to be misunderstood.
