Hi,
I am a total newby.
I want to buy a game to demonstrate my system and heard that Overwatch is a good one where the content is not too racy as that is also one of the parameters. I want to buy from GOG and DRM free of course to set up a lan party at home. Can anyone advise me of the best game(s) for this purpose?

Frank
Shadow Warrior definitely isn't racy and a good lan party fun, or a booze and pot party. :D

I'm afraid GOG may not be the best place for what you're looking for. You won't find online-only games like Overwatch here, and if you jsut mean an FPS with impressive high-end graphics, again GOG's supply of recent AAA titles is not extensive. Shadow Warrior 2 is probably your best shot, followed by Dying Light.

If he can forego the temptation to brag about his hardware, there are few games more fun for LAN parties than Unreal Tournament 2004.

Oh, there's plenty of superb FPSes on GOG, like TRON 2.0, SWAT 4, Jedi Knight 2, MoH Allied Assault etc.

Anyway, I thought it's more about checking out the full capabilities of his new gaming rig than bragging about it to others. I mean, it's not like the other players playing Overwatch would be impressed he can run Overwatch :P
I would say the Trine series, but you can play them with the integrated graphics card. So nothing to show off, but they're fun games.

There is no DRM free version of a game like Overwatch. You'll want to look into Team Fortress 2 and Paladins. TF2 is the best one for LAN and setting up your own server.

What do you mean by that? A hardware demanding game with good looking graphics and no explicit content? Must it be a FPS? Or multiplayer? If you mean strictly an online FPS like Overwatch, yeah being online in the way they are kind of preclude them from being DRM-free. But if being a pretty game and family friendly is all there is to it, it might open some possibilities.

What do you mean by "content is not too racy ", as Unreal 2 with walk speed as vanilla is really not racy.

Do you mean that you want to benchmark ( test) your system and see how much it can handle?
If so, then Overwatch is a poor choice, because you can play that game on really old machines.
I'd say go with new-ish modern games, like Metro 2033 ( or Metro: Last Light) Shadow Warrior 2, and maybe Dying Light ( if you're into zombies)
If that doesn't work, then just go with Crysis.

As for Lan Games...well, on GOG, there's Unreal Tournament, Quake and maybe a few more. You can find a lot more outside of GOG.
Well I am quite fond of Team Fortress 2. It's not available on GOG however, but you find it in Steam. Team Fortress 2, or tf2, is a free game that is very fun and Overwatch is a somewhat copy of tf2 (I do not intend to start a discussion here, just mentioning it). I recommend you to at least try tf2 (you'll need to download Steam and create a steam account in the process) and if you do not like it then it is fine, there are a lot of games like it out there. I hope you find a splendid game
Team Fortress 2 and Paladins, Paladins is probably the most similar to Overwatch but both of them are not available here.
Completely different genre than Overwatch, but The Solus Project is a great looking game on Unreal 4 engine.
Team Fortress 2. It's free.
Team Fortress 3.
