drealmer7: Who here plays guitar to one degree or another?
I play guitar to both degrees. :) Been playing since 1986, roughly 30 years.
drealmer7: How proficient are you?
Quite proficient.
drealmer7: Is it a passion?
Absolutely, very much so.
For me it's a passtime both from the past, the present and also for the future.
drealmer7: Something you wish you did more of?
Definitely, you can never play too much guitar.
drealmer7: Something you used to do more of?
Yes, when I started out in 1986 I played 4 to 6 hours per day for about 6 years straight, then after that my time was divided with college and various other things. Nowadays I play often enough but would always love to play more.
drealmer7: Are you in a band?
No, not currently. Not the best city for that, too much bandinitis here, too many musicians that aren't serious about music but are much more serious about substance abuse and making excuses.
drealmer7: Do you play with friends?
On the odd occasion informally with company, and more rarely a jam session or a bar jam night.
drealmer7: What kind of guitar(s) do you play?
Gibson SG-62
Ibanez RGA7 7-string
Epiphone G400
drealmer7: What kind(s) of music do you play?
Progressive metal, metal, thrash, rock, classic rock, blues, instrumental guitar, classical/baroque.
coryrj1995: I've been playing for about 7-ish years on a daily basis (missed about 3 days that I can remember :P ) Never really played in a band, but got together with a couple of groups at times. All electric, and I even have a bass, in fact that is what I'm holding in my avatar picture :P I play mostly blues, rock, and metal with AC/DC songs being some of my favorite to play, and my favorite band. I am trying to learn a few Primus songs on bass too.
Here is a picture of my brothers and my collection (since then he has gotten an Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top Pro in cherry red, that jerk) My guitars are the black SG, the Futura- explorer style one, and the EB Bass.
Nice, AC/DC is my all time favourite band, I'm a massive fan. That's actually why I own the SG-62 and it's my favourite guitar. :)
Is that an SG-61 reissue on the chair in the left of your photo? It looks like a 61 or 62 reissue.
Was hard to tell from the photo but actually I just noticed the nut which looks more like my G400 as the SGs all have bone nuts I believe. :)
