It's a G400 pro. It's all stock so far, and the nut is a "black imitation PVC bone nut" according to Epiphone's website. Sadly, it is my brothers, but I don't think he knows how much I actually play it :P

Here's another picture of his new Les Paul (I play it while he not looking too), I really need one now. Both his SG and LP have a slim taper D neck, which just feels fantastic.

I've been playing again after not playing for... year or more. Just taught myself to play See you by Dinosaur jr. and almost done with Closer to the heart by Rush. Next I'll do The Trees.

This song is from a comp my band was on (me on lead and rhythm). Our singer wasn't available at the studio recording, so the drummer filled in on vocals. I was a journeyman at best. Power chords, bar chords, the occasional lead riff. I spent about 8 years pretending to know what I was doing. But that's part of the fun of rock and roll.

Not about guitar, but to this day I kick myself to my head for turning down when my mother wanted to send me to piano lessons (my big sister and brother already went there (and my sister also took violin lessons too), and we had a piano at home). Stupid kids, they don't know what is good for them.

It is interesting to think that all those years in my childhood we indeed had a piano and I played with it (like a toy), but still I didn't really learn anything during all those years. Just goes to show that just giving a kid an instrument will not teach them anything, no matter how much they dabble with it. Someone really needs to teach them how to use it.

Oh, now I remember, we also had a mandolin! I guess my father or someone brought it from some vacation to southern Europe. I played a lot with it as well, again not learning at all to actually play it. Oh well, I am a failed master with many instruments.

I bought a guitar 6 years ago and tried to learn it from a cousin but gave up early on. It's still there with me, perhaps I will pick it up again when everything is less hectic for me. How did all of you learn it though? (On your own, from someone else, some website, etc.)

I've been delivering low frequencies since a long long time. Quite proficiently! As a teen, I was visiting recording studios to watch bands playing and ultimately fell in love with the bass guitar.

I've been in a heavy metal band for some years, plus I was regularly asked to play with other bands too (both in studio & gigs) since bassists were very few and guitarists/ drummers were way too many in my town *laughs*. That was until I developed tinnitus, so loud volumes have been a no-no since. Major bummer and nearly quit playing until I was introduced in jazz music which sparked my interest in playing music again. Nowadays I'm playing all alone, I enjoy soloing and trying to write & record some original stuff.

Yup, I used to play a lot more in my younger years but I still pick one of them up to noodle. I wish I played more and better.

I'm intermediate, I guess. I've been playing around with some Satriani songs lately but I'm a little too slow and "in the box" to really get into that territory. I can improvise fairly well with strongly blues-flavoured soloing. I used to play a lot with friends, but moved to an area that had no other musicians about 15 years ago... I had to rely on recording and loopers to play, and that's really hard to maintain and grow your musicality.

I have a Godin Freeway with maple neck (fantastic underrated guitar), Epiphone Dot Studio and Ibanez S620exqm, as well as a Brice 6-string bass.

I can't leave my guitars well enough alone, so I have upgraded the pickups on all of them (only the bridge on the Godin for a JB, the neck is awesome and I can't decide on the middle).

I can play some song... I played guitar for 4-5 years, now it's already 4-5 years that I don't play it...
I also used to play transverse flute on my town band.
I made some choose, I decided that playing instruments was not my way... there is not enogh time to do all you would like to do, so I drop guitar and flute.

My fender is still there when I need to relax (usually I don't play music when I need to relax I just listen to music, play, watch anime or program, but once in a while I just want to play my guitar again).

Anybody here made and/or play a cigar box guitar? I've been thinking of making one.

I started learning guitar on 2nd year of junior high school. Me and my friend, two teenagers without teacher, only a cheap music book that has a list of guitar chords, and determination. We both end up being able to play decently, good enough to play on camping, we even wrote some songs. Well, he wrote many, I just wrote one song.

Last time I play my guitar was few years ago. I leave it at my parents house now I have move out. I plan to take it back next time I visit my parents

Learned a bit guitar playing when I was a teen but everybody does it (most played instrument on the planet), so I had the feeling it's rather pointless since there are enough around already. I've learned great highland bagpipe and whistles later and switched to an electro-acoustic wheel fiddle in the end. Been hooked ever since.
When I was still jumping between workshops I've build a concert guitar that is worth around 1200€ but it's just sitting there in the corner in a thermo-case.

The same here, but I continued hating on my mom and going to music school (extracurricular activity after school). 1st and 2nd year piano then acoustic guitar until 7th grade, then bass guitar for 2 years. Also solfege sucked ass.
