Not crazy about these non-games, but if people enjoy partaking in VNs, who am I to judge? I don't have to buy them after all, and hopefully their inclusion isn't at the exclusion of actual games I want to buy and play. sad that VALVe allows all the shit they do on their platform with almost no moderation and then decides to cave to MiM's weak ass political pressure. Unless I missed something.

I just hope they filter them from the other content somehow. Not because I want to deny them from other people; I just don't want to have to try to slog through them while trying to look for actual games. Perhaps put them in a different tab, like they do the movies they released for a time. I quit Steam because I was tired of trying to sift through this stuff looking for actual game releases.

Many of the visual novels incorporate choices, making them interactive. Isn't that the definition of a game?

I consider "playing" a Visual Novel like reading a book, the only bonus you get is that you can actually "see" what happens. Your interaction as a player is meaningless, plus a lot of them rely on sexual content and dating sims elements to be appealing to customers, who would otherwise just ignore them.

Not to me. Not any more than the "choose your adventure" books that were popular in the 1980's were games. Same idea: a novel where you made choices and it changed the outcome - not a game.

A dating sim is not a videogame, in my opinion (which can be wrong, but it's mine)

I see. Yet, in your post, I can see words like "interaction" and "simulation elements". Those belong to a game, right?
