Only Impossible Creatures and Turok for me. The rest are either not my cup of tea (mostly Paradox+Stardock) or I'm unconvinced/suspicious of their quality.
Bought Never Alone and Card City Nights on release.

Spent more money on not-new-GOG-release games during the sales that I'd been waiting to pick up. Several of the other games on the OP list will be bought once I finish a few more games off my backlog/they go on a good sale. Would've bought Fallen Enchantress, but the release discount went off before I got paid.

Not sure I'm clear on what issue my wallet is voting on, but here's what I bought from that list:

Strategy:
- Last Federation
- Galactic Civilzations 2

Action:
- Starpoint Gemini 2
None, but I will be buying Impossible Creatures at some point. Possibly also the Galactic Civilizations games, and Sins of a Solar Empire.

Games I bought:
- Last Federation The lost technologies dlc (Had the game since its release - its Arcen afterall)
- Stronghold Crusader 2 + 2dlc
- Valhalla Hills (saved money for this for some time)
- Tropico 5 (was 75% off since I owned all the other games)
- Galactic Civilizations 2

Planned to buy Stars Beyond Reach from Arcen games but that one was delayed till march 2016 so used the money for other games that are mentioned above.

Waiting for 75-80% on Sins of a Solar Empire/Fallen Enchantress since I already own them in retail and on Stardock.com.

On my wishlist for later:
- Impossible Creatures
- Warrior Kings + Battles (preowned waiting for 75% off)
- For the Glory (preowned waiting for 75% off)
- Sengoku (preowned waiting for 75% off)
- Darkest Hour (preowned waiting for 75% off)
- Chaos Reborn

Not interested in other games from the list.

Hm, I know that I bought the Trails in the Sky games and Neptunia rebirth 1 right when they were released here, is that recent enough?
The other games I bought (about 50) are older and were already on GOG when I first came in contact with this site (thanks to the TW3 release)
None so far (though Fallen Enchantress and Sorcerer King are really tempting)

Though on the other hand, I mainly buy stuff during bigger sales / promotions, so that's to be expected...

As for the big percentage of Strategy games, guess it can somewhat be explained by 50% of them being published by both Paradox and Stardock (both among the more active publishers when it comes to releasing on GOG), which mainly / heavily focus on the strategy genre.

So I'd say it's less about an suddenly excessive focus on strategy, but rather related to the more limited choice of bigger publishers willing to put their content on GOG (just look at how many of the other genres releases are actually new games, as in not already been out for years).

And while diversifying and spreading out genres of new releases might be ideal, it might just not be always an option (as only GOG Staff knows what happens behind the scenes).

Besides, it's still the early new year / after-holidays period, not really the best time for new releases, so that can factor in too (as some publishers might specifically refuse to have their content released during this time). And who knows, maybe within a week or two, we will return to a more "varied" release schedule...
But...the genres...

Hard West & Chaos Reborn are turn-based tactics, not strategy. If you're going to distinguish management and strategy, this shouldn't be ignored either, as some people really love one and really dislike the other. Myself included.

Card City Nights is a card game. Oh sure, it's not "a traditional card-trading game" - neither is poker. So what?

Putting Turok (a FFPS (Foggy First Person Shooter)) into the same category as Nuclear Throne (a top-down, arcadey roguelite shooter) is also really stretching it.

I don't know Runestone Keeper, but it's either a roguelike or a roguelite, according to the store page.

Perhaps you're now thinking I'm nitpicking and these are just nuances, but (I hope obviously) I'd disagree. Otherwise why not just put everything under "Video game" and demand more movie releases?
I bought the expansion for The Last Federation. Others are on my list, but I haven't had much time or money recently.

Snickersnack: - Turok

A classic '90s fps I haven't played? Yes please!
avatar
snowkatt: and how does it play ?
the n64 version has a wall of fog that would make silent hill proud
I wished I knew, I haven't played any games since september! XD

I hope to correct that soon though. Winter is the best time of the year for that sort of thing.
Bougth:

Last Federation
Impossible Creatures
Starpoint Gemini 2
Moment of Silence
Overcloked: History Of Violence

Wishlisted about 70% of the remaining.

thank god, I thought I was the only one. I HATE strategy games. Every time I see a new release, the cover art sceams, "you will love this RPG" and then I see strategy and I just make a face.

I have bought no new games. NONE. because *points wildly at list*

It's the same, at least the original version was. But it's Silent Hill (1999) that makes Turok (1997) feel vindicated.
From your list, I bought:

Adventure:
- Moment of Silence
- Overclocked: History Of Violence

Hatoful Boyfriend is not adventure game.
