So I received a spam mail from gog. Unfortunately, such a thing is quite common nowadays. However, the gog spam was particularly useless. I quote the whole mail:

"?? no idea what to put here ??"

The fix would be simple, of course: stop spamming!

Didn't get that. Are you sure its not just general spam? Check email address of sender. In fact I rarely get any mails from gog.

Sounds to me like one of the GOG engineers started work without having their Monday morning coffee :)

There is an academic study (the name of which is eluding me atm) analyzing bug-introducing commits in open code repositories to understand when devs make the most mistakes. Monday mornings is a top contender :)

That would have to be a very sleepy engineer because it's a day off in Poland, so he shouldn't be at work in the first place ;-).

You get 11 Public holidays. The UK 2nd lowest in the world with 8

It's definitely spam coming from gog. Subject was 'Your "Welcome Offer" ends in 24 hours', so I guess only new accounts received this particular spam mail.

The content of the mail was definitely bugged, but if you consider all notifications to be "spam" and don't want to receive it you can simply disable it in account settings (Orders and settings -> Subscriptions).

At work, we have an unofficial policy of not committing anything to the Firmware's GIT repository after 5pm, since people rush to Commit and then leave before it all explodes...

Poor attempt at a joke.

Worked for a company that imported textiles from China. The entire country shuts down for a week around Chinese New Year, plus plenty of others. Needed to make sure all orders where in before then.

They get about 20 days in total

Screenshots or it didn't happen!

Seriously, if you still have that bad boy it belongs on this wall of infamy:

This can't be stressed enough:

Email From address can be easily forged.

Go to "Show RFC headers" in your email (web) client and check where it originates from.

Thanks for pointing that out! We're fixing this already.
