HolyPaddler2: So I received a spam mail from gog. Unfortunately, such a thing is quite common nowadays. However, the gog spam was particularly useless. I quote the whole mail:

I was going to point out that some Countries whose governments use their national identity to suppress aspects of peoples lives, such as the communist party in China, tend to have a lot more public holidays as a form of propaganda and social control.

If an attempt at humor falls flat, it's usually best to take the hit and move on. Insulting your "audience" and arguing that it is funny! no, really! isn't going to help.
