My gaming computer still runs with windows XP.
Asking just for curiosity and because, unfortunately, all the new games do not support XP anymore.
Anyway at the moment i do not want to reinstall the OS and no want to throw other money at Microsoft.

Please don't tell me to install linux because most of my games don't works with it.

I have a computer with XP on it, but it's so slow-running that I rarely use it for anything, mainly sticking to my Windows 8 laptop.

Well, I use XP as my virtual machine sandbox when I want to install a windows game and then move it to linux to see if I can run it with Wine.

XP + 7 + Mint here, works pretty well for now :). Scary part is I'm going to have a CPU upgrade soon, but I don't want to reinstall the OSes afterwards and don't know how to accomplish that :(

Good news! Linux will still run with no problems. Windows probably won't, but that's just MORE GOOD NEWS! :)

I don't know what answer he's expecting, doesn't want to throw more money to MS, but what else is there, except for linux?

My primary PC runs on XP...I don't think I'm gonna upgrade provided that hardware will keep functioning :-p

I have an xp machine, haven't used it in ages. Have images of xp but again, don't use them. Probably best to move up to win 7 at least, its pretty comparable. Dual boot Linux as others.have mentioned, no need to just stick with one.

If you're only installing a new CPU then you won't need to reinstall your operating systems. If I could swap a CPU in the mid-90s without reinstalling Windows back then, then I am sure the same holds true today :)

Actually, that's not always true. It can cause a kernel panic blue screen sometimes.

I have one with WinXP but prefer the one with Win7 but PREFER the one with OSX. :)
