Grargar: The Windows version of Goat Simulator has just received an update. Will test it and let you know if/how it works.
Yayyyyy!!! And the Mac version has been updated too!

Meanwhile, they haven't even acknowledged the support ticket I opened yesterday night about the Linux version. :(((
Well, we made some progress. Now, it launches and plays well. That is, until you attempt to launch one of the DLC maps (Goatz, Payday, or Waste of Space). Then, it insists on constantly loading the stupid floating island. Time to send a
support ticket to the developers, as well.

Can confirm its also launching and playing well but still has some issues with the DLC maps, maybe Coffee Stain studios is trolling the DRM-free crowd
They learned from the best. DRM-Free means crippleware now.

Probably the only way to get DRM free and working games soon is getting the GOG version or just getting the cracked version which will work even better than a GOG version as things seem to be going.
Update: Beholder will be getting a new DLC today which might be free, making the DRM free copy in this bundle obsolete...
Well, it took a little longer but the Linux version of Goat Simulator has been updated. It works[*] and it's got all the DLC content. :)

[*] If you can call what this game does is "work": it takes forever to load up, it then takes even more forever to load a level, it performs like shit with constant framedrops, etc.

Grargar: When you say that you can't claim it, do you mean that the "Redeem on Steam" button is greyed out like in the attached image? In that case, have you actually tried clicking it or did you assume that it's unclickable?
avatar
Wishbone: I did indeed assume it was unclickable. I blame my developer background, because I would never in a million years grey out a button unless it was unclickable. It never even occurred to me that anyone would deliberately break that long standing convention.
I would have been rather surprised had this been the case - at least, that never happened to me, Humble checking what games are in my library already and subsequently withholding a Steam key.
That being said, unlinking your Steam account takes but one simple click, so there's always that option should Humble indeed start doing this (which I'd be none too happy about).

meh, never had issue with the windows version myself

then again it could be different with the Linux port

jamyskis: One of the better bundles of late from HB to be sure. I had wondered if they had abandoned these, given that HIB 17 was a whole year ago. I do chuck in the bare minimum on occasion for the other bundles, given that many of the games are Steam only, but I do like to support the mainline bundles with a little more dosh, even if the exclusivity of the DRM-free and Linux version launches isn't what it used to be (it used to be that almost all of the games were Steam-only beforehand - with the exception of Beholder and Goat Simulator, all of these are on GOG).

When you see quality bundles like this, it makes me incredibly sad to see how the Humble brand has otherwise been so badly diluted as a dumping ground for cheap Steam keys.

Seeing Owlboy here in particular warms the cockles of my heart though. I'd been hankering after that one for a while.
yeah, admittedly the quality isnt always there, but sometimes you can find absolute gems such as with this one

what comes about DRm-free support, most people prefer to have a steam copy of the game, thats just how it is, and its less hassle for the devs to have to support one version of the game than 2-3 different ones.

I really dont wish to take the piss on people who prefer DRM-free because everybody have their own reasons but yeah, the majority is more toward steam or gtfo..

What's the situation with the games now? Is Goat Simulator's DRM-free build working (with DLC)? Thinking about the bundle since it's got a few gems in it already.

Edit: Got the bundle and Goat Simulator is still broken.

The following games have been added to the BTA tier:

A Story About My Uncle
Neon Drive

As per the rest of the bundle, they both have a DRM-Free download and a Steam key. They are also multiplatform.

The racing game looks like shovelware garbage, but "Story" looks neat.

I'm still pretty bummed about Goat simulator.
