hello,

i have almost the same issues as others with the new version of the downloader

os : windows 7 home premium sp1 64 bit / language : french
browser : opera 12.02 (32 bit version)

a - the size of the tech demo coming with the divinity franchise , isnt displayed in the downloader
b - removing a file queued , isn"t really removed
c - added in the queue list " warsow" , then removed it , and added it again (didn"t worked the second time , maybe something related with point b)

in the end ; the downloader at the moment , is buggy

previous version , worked fine , this one , not.

Fallen_Zen: As always, this will be appreciated (from the sticky post above): 1. Downloader version (found under settings) 2. OS version 3. OS language 4. Browser kind and version (this is required only if you're having problems when adding games to the queue from the website) 5. Downloader log contents if possible: Windows 7/Vista - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\GOG.com 6. A detailed description of the problem.

staticblast: 1. v3.2.7.0 2. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 3. English 4. Opera 12.02 and Chrome Version 22.0.1229.94 m 5. Not Applicable, since the download doesn't even initiate. 6. When I click the link to download a game, it works fine. When I click any of the links for the bonus content, nothing happens. No errors, just nothing.
I'm having the same problem here.

1. v3.2.7.0
2. Windows 7 Home Premium x64
3. English
4.Palemoon 15.2
5. Download doesn't initiate. I don't get that window to choose the gog downloader.
6. Same, clicking the game link adds the game to the queue, clicking the bonus content either the download all or just the individual item does nothing.

And it was working prior to the update.
So, I checked the downloader to only download at 150 kb/s and it's going at 670 kb/s at the moment. It appears this option doesn't actually work?
It appears that drag and drop queue reordering is now broken as well.

Works for me. Do you have the option to restrict that to a period of the day checked?

No. Here's what's happening. Check the attachment.

Edit: Also, I know it's the downloader using all of that speed because the usage goes back to 0 when I pause the download.

Is there a place I can download the old version of the downloader until this issue is fixed?

jrqualls: Is there a place I can download the old version of the downloader until this issue is fixed?
Not really, this is a forced update so you can download the beta, but they immediately force you to update. The download is in this post:
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/introducing_the_beta_release_of_the_new_gogcom_downloader/post1
If the GOG downloader is failing to download files bigger than two gigs, I can see two potential reasons:

1. Your hard drive is formatted in FAT32. (FAT32 can't store files bigger than 2GiB)
2. There's a flaw in the GOG.com downloader.

If it's a flaw in the downloader, it's probably the same reason FAT32 has problems. (32-bit apps, which the downloader must be to run on standard WinXP, tend to use 32-bit signed integer variables to hold file sizes, and they can't handle values bigger than 2 billion)
I wrote a whole long diatribe just for GOG, but, since I didn't want to ruin anyone's day I deleted it. So my downloader doesn't work either. I am not a beta tester. Please could you give us a link to download the old downloader that did work. Thank you very much for this. 1. I think you know the version: The NEW one 2. XP home 32bit 3. English 4. Chrome, if that matters? 5. Sorry, but, in my moment of joy I just quit the stupid thing (not sure if it created one anyways). 6. It said something about an error in the checksum after it "downloaded" and to contact you, so here I am. Also, unless I paused it, the download bar did not show any progress. Plus the game when it had so-called downloaded was a lot smaller in the download folder then it should have been, so it couldn't have downloaded it all. 7. Thank you for fixing this as fast as you can. 8. An easy? if temporary fix, is letting us download the old version till this one works for more of us. 9. Please do ^that if possible....Pleeeease. Thank you very much, I'm sure this is not great for you either. Good luck. :)

EDIT: So, I thought, maybe I should just give this downloader one more shot (I'm stubborn). So I reinstalled it using your downloader link. Then I just downloaded a small game as a test and it worked fine. So maybe that fixed it for me, regrettably the game I wish to downloaded (the only one I haven't yet) is multiple gig's and my connection is so slow it will take me 2 plus days to know if it will work for that. So I'll let you know whenever it's done.

It forced me to update to 3.2.7.0 "stable." First I noticed it wouldn't let me re-order items. I have a slow connection, so I like to get the game I want most first -- though even if I had a really fast connection I think that's a reasonable enough request? I'm 99% sure that the previous version did let me re-order downloads, but since it forced me to update whether or not I wanted to to do anything at all I can't verify this. So I tried removing downloads to manually re-add them in the order I wanted (though I'd just swear I had them in the right order the first time) and it turns out that it won't let me remove them. I've even tried uninstalling, deleting ever GoG related folder I could track down, removed all registry entries, and so on, but the moment I run it again it shows the exact same queue in the exact same wrong order. It must be hiding a file somewhere on the computer rather than the queue being on the account itself because if I log into the downloader on another computer it doesn't show that queue. No matter what I try, while it may remove the downloads and it take them off the list, the moment I restart the downloader the list is right back the way it was before. What's worse is it seems to not want to let me add the downloads again once I take them off. Perhaps because it still considers them to be there, I don't know. So I couldn't reorder them that way either.

I have a suggestion: don't force us to update in the future, just suggest that there is a new version. The previous version worked beautifully for me and a lot of other people, but the new one has issues not just for me but others as well. Why can't we use the version that worked perfectly? Ok, if there were major protocol or authentication changes I'd understand requiring some minimum version, but otherwise why not just let us use what works best and "upgrade" just when we feel like it? Then we can wait until "stable" releases are fully tested before updating to them without loss of functionality being caused by forced updates. I guess in the meantime I'm going to have to do this the hardest possible way using HTTP downloading and just hope that for once my connection will hold long enough to complete a large download (though in the past I haven't been so lucky sadly.)

PS. FAT32 can handle files up to 4GiB in size. 2GiB is not a FAT32 limitation. Any 2GiB limitations related to the FAT32 filesystem would be a software issue regarding how a particular program dealt with it rather than a filesystem limitation.

twincast: Both before and after today's update the downloader crashes when trying to put apparently too much on the download queue. Before the update the order of stuff got jumbled after a crash and some of the latest items were missing, but everything was visible. Now it's still downloading fine (I can only assume nothing is missing - have to check later), but nothing shows up on the queue. I can add new stuff, but everything that was on the list before the crash is now invisible.
Could you post log file?

You must press "Save" button to apply changes to downloader.

Threre is a flaw in downloader due to file sizes. We're working on fix it.

Re-ordering items works, you must click on game icon and drag.

ivoluijendijk: Hi, I just had the new version of the downloader pushed to me: version 3.2.7.0. Since then, downloading games doesn't work. The bonus material don't seem to be giving problems.
Temporary solution for this issue: Go to your app data folder: Windows 7/Vista - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\GOG.com and delete all files from this folder, then add again a game.

We're working on bug fixes. Please remember about post the following information:
1. Downloader version (found under settings)
2. OS version 3.
OS language
4. Browser kind and version (this is required only if you're having problems when adding games to the queue from the website)
5. Downloader log contents if possible: Windows 7/Vista - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\GOG.com Mac OS X - Contents from the Console app regarding the GOG Downloader
6. A detailed description of the problem.

We'll be able to find a solution and post it for you a lot faster. Thanks! :)

Hello, here's my configuration and problem :
1. Downloader version 3.2.7.0
2. Windows 7 64 bit Pro
3. French
4.
5. Downloader log : https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1122769/logger.log
6. When starting the downloader, it doesn't keep or resume most of downloads from previous sessions. The downloader progress bar and stats don't "update", standing still until pausing-unpausing the downloads. Sometimes, a download gets stuck right before its end, or ends, but the file is incomplete, particularly on bonus. Hope it helps.
