Join us in Cologne on Thursday, August 14!

GamesCom Cologne is the biggest European games industry show and we know that many of you will be attending. We'd love to take this chance to meet you! Alas, we think that the middle of a busy trade show is not the best place to hang out with you, dear Goggers. We'd like to meet you in a more friendly venue and spend some time chatting, sharing a few beers, and playing some games in a relaxed atmosphere of a gamer-friendly pub. So, we'd like to heartily invite you to the GOG.com Party that will be taking place on Thursday, August 14, from 5:00PM to 10:00PM local time, in one of the local pubs not far from where the GamesCom main show will be located.

We've got 70 open spots. To reserve yours, contact us at party@gog.com and give us your full name and the GOG.com username (or usernames, if you're bringing a friend) and the time we can expect your arrival. We'll ask you to RSVP before the event, to make sure you didn't change your mind about attending. We'll let you know if you made the main guest list. If you're late to register, we'll get your name on our backup list and contact you if a spot opens on the main one.

We have some cool activities planned for you! You'll be able to play some games in our NVidia-powered GOG arcade. We've got lots of GOG goodies to give away. There'll be prizes to win in contests. Beer and soft drinks will be waiting at the bar for all of our guests! A big chunk of GOG.com Team is going to be there, and we look forward to meeting you all in person. If you know you'll be attending, please also drop a note here in the forums below, so all other Goggers will know they'll get to hang out with you! Also, feel free to make suggestions as to what would you like to see in the GOG.com Party.

This invitation will be updated with new details as we get closer to GamesCom, so make sure to drop by every now and then! Bottom line: party with GOG.com at GamesCom, Thursday, August 14, 5:00PM-10:00PM. Great fun, free beer, GOG goodies for our guests. 70 open spots, reserve yours at party@gog.com.
we better see more info about GOGgalaxy

I'm expecting big things from GOG in this regard

Tarnicus: That's why if you attend naked, you are guaranteed to get good "exposure" and it really helps with the "relaxed atmosphere."

Sending my RSVP now... (I just need to set up a Kickstarter to get the airfares and accommodation paid for and I'm sure my nudity will pay for the rest)
And you don't even need to learn Polish! ;-P

Are you saying that nudity is the universal language? If that's true, and this was Eurovision 2014, insert Slavic girls clip if sex sells. (oh noes you'll have to look that one up yourself :P)

Being someone that doesn't watch Eurovision, this was... em... quite informative. ;-P

LOL (yes that deserves a capitalised LOL!) and this was the first year I have watched the Eurovision song contest. If I'd known beards were in fashion I would have entered myself and won(if they took contortionists :P).

MunkiSiren told me that that group does a far more outrageous clip that involves far more shaking and moving bits. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure it is done in line with appropriate cultural and gender representations of what Slavic girls are like. If not, I demand a refund when I get to the airport of er...Slavakia!

PS - Props for looking that up Hyper, I would have sworn that someone with their head in their crotch would have beat you to it! :P

I'm afraid that you're a few decades late for that, but then you weren't even born yet. ;-P

On a serious note - I've no idea if this is supposed to be some sort of satire, but if not, it's rather disheartening that they "promote" such a stereotypical image of Slavic girls.

Perhaps not enough Eurovision fans online? ;-P

Too much to reply to with such fancy quoting that is beyond me at this hour, so I'll focus on the most important and will reply verbosely.

No. Penis.

(I think that sums up the counter argument to your well reasoned comment on gender inequality?)

I suppose this also works, though my comment was not really about gender inequality.

And with this, I think we've derailed the thread enough... at least for now. ;-)
Is it still possible to send a mail? My provider informed that the Mail couldn't be delivered and I'm unsure why.

Yes it is! We've had some server problems but the address should now be active again.

There are still some free spots on the lists, and I'll be sending you confirmations on Monday.

Thank you for signing up, I look forward to meeting you all!

awalterj: If it was in Poland, I'd be probably come (not primarily for the party but because I miss the cheap and great food).

Train to Cologne costs more than a flight to Poland, thanks to the very creative prices of the Swiss Federal Railways and the Deutsche Bahn.
Its the same here.
Plane tickets are dirt cheap to most major Europan citys if you order a bit in advance, but if you want to take a long distance train it costs more, pretty silly hearing complaints from the politicians that people shoud be thinking more about the environment but there are no politics in place that will make one take the long distance train over plane.

Man I love GoG - what an awesome thing to do! Have fun all who attend!
Just sent my reservation, it sounds like it'll be a good time. :)

G-Doc: We'll send you notifications that you've made the list tomorrow!
The reply wasn't for me, but I still have no reply to my email from Wednesday.
How long should I wait before sending the next ?-)
