I mean what's so unexpected about a company denying some uncomfortable truths revealed by an employee in private chat? Isn't that what they all do. If they go as far as making the mistake of communicating with customers..

1. It is hard to keep track of but if all content is accounted for & the game works for me I couldn't care less if the game has the latest patch/update. It's nice to have though, but not necessary for me/some others.

Also if we all make a "run on the bank" for refunds it hurts GOG and i'd rather people not hurt and possibly negatively affect a site I like which is miles better than steam in many ways.

There are better ways to hurt Tinybuild(as some are doing via reddit/etc) than asking GOG for refunds.

Maybe so but how do you know a bug won't show up later even if it "works" for you at that moment simply because the dev couldn't be arsed to update a paid product and yes what the patch fixes/changes does play into how important it is. I couldn't give a damn if they patch in the chinese language because i don't know it so i'm obviously talking about more significant updates here.

Regardless it's still not a good sign when a dev neglect users here and that alone makes me avoid them because sooner or later it will be a patch/content update you really need or want and i don't feel like ignoring this behavior until i get burned so i have to put a stop sign somewhere.

You say it's an employee but what level/position...and were they being truthful or lying to harm the company? I ask as these things matter when trying to prove someone has been negligent/bad.

Addition: I also think we should hold off getting them kicked off GOG until GOG and the dev have a pow wow and official comments are heard from both sides. Just a thought.

1. In most cases a bug will happen when you do the same action under the same conditions in a game each and every time. If a game has had multiple patches and all content has been released I consider it complete/done...even if they keep releasing small fixes every so often.

In many cases yes but i've gotten a few nasty surprises when that didn't hold true and completely squashing all bugs will not happen but you can atleast try to minimize them aside from that i have just accepted that if they won't patch even small issues then there's no guarantee for serious issues either which is something tinyBuild and many other devs/publishers has proven to be true sadly.

In end though it's fun that matters.

The problem is that I don't want them bothered or - worst case scenario - harassed. If I tell you what their position is according to the Discord server, it would instantly be clear who it is.
I understand any skepticism in regards to this, and I'm not taking it personally because I myself would have a hard time trusting random screenshots provided by a random person on the internet.

Not sure whether that makes any difference, but I did post about this on r/GOG, and someone cross-posted it on r/Games where it was promptly taken down due to it being considered a rumour, exactly because of the lack of actual evidence.
After that I provided the original screenshots to the mod team over there and that was enough to have them put the thread back up.

Of course, I could be making that up. There's nothing wrong with taking anything you hear with a healthy amount of skepticism, and I actually appreciate when people don't want to jump to conclusions, but I also advise approaching tinyBuild's games with that same amount of skepticism.

1. Many times such things usally don't do any major harm to one's system, though. Also yes some devs do bad stuff but one must be careful not to be too paranoid or worry about minor things & always verify comments like the ones that have come up about Tinybuild.

1. I don't want you to reveal such, but if they are a low level employee or a disgruntled one they might be mistaken or outright lying. I am skeptical by nature, though, so it;s not just me defending/being devil's advocate for Tinybuild(that last bit was to everyone reading).

2. All of it is good if the info is their genuine position on the matter, but if not it's just throwing fuel on the fire that is the outrage fire online(sadly). This is not to say that I blame you for doing so.

Not a problem. I think GOG/Tinybuild are in talks atm so we have to wait and see.

i think that, more than flat refunds, what really matters, what really is important is for GOG to clearly show they were made aware that such situation and malpractices are becoming too big and noticable by the customers to continue being ignored or dismissed

i just hope that in a close future, GOG will set up ways to fully disclaim, disclose, warn or even prevent such kind of behavior from keep occuring and affecting their customers.

Yeah you can call me naive utopist, but it's just what should be done in the current situation: many devs and publishers so far had been able to get away with murder (pardon me the expression) with clean hands, no liability and a free pass card to keep doing that.

So i am aware that some current contract deals in effect may have a time limit for GOG to respectn but what is really needed is MORE (if not FULL) disclosure of all that, in a visible way, on the sotre page. If GOG cannot or dont want to protect customers from such practices for whatever reasons, at least they, as a store, are liable for information (or the lack of it) towards customers.

Now, lets face it and be honest: GOG will do nothing, wont change a bit and will keep fleeing forwards, trying to secure deals with any publisher, no matter how shady and uncooperative or whimsical they may be from the outright beginning of their relations, and as their store website is just a wriggling unstable bloated mess, i dont even expect any customer information either. So i guess it will fall upon our own shoulders to warn and inform each others.
