Blood: Fresh Supply is now available DRM-free. If you own the original Blood: One Unit Whole Blood, you can get the remaster 5 USD cheaper (the final discount is 5 USD equivalent, and may vary depending on your region and price in local currency). Offer is valid until June 9th, 3pm UTC.

Battle an army of sycophantic cultists, zombies, gargoyles, hellhounds, and an insatiable host of horrors in your quest to defeat the evil Tchernobog. Squirm through 42 loathsome levels filled with more atmosphere than a Lovecraftian mausoleum. Begin your journey armed with a simple pitchfork and earn more effective implements of destruction like aerosol cans, flare guns, voodoo dolls and more!

Original Blood: One Unit Whole Blood from now on will be available as a free bonus with Blood: Fresh Supply.

CMOT70: It is included as a free extra.

pferreira1983: Oh they have? Okay great, thanks!
Technically the original was removed for sale and added to the remaster as a bonus goodie.
'Goodies: Blood: One Unit Whole Blood Goodies'

I assume this means the extras that came with OUWB, but since it's been removed from the catalogue those are no longer publicly listed. (From checking OUWB in my account, they were the manuals, soundtrack and 'Love You to Death' music video.)
How come the price has changed within three days of it releasing?

On release day it was showing as £7.89 (and as $9.99 when viewed in USD) and with my discount it was therefore £3.99.
Today it is showing as £7.19 (and as $9.56 when viewed in USD) and to the discount now takes it to £3.59.

I can't see anything in the local prices changes forum thread, and I can't see any real difference in the exchange rate these last few days either.

I've also seen someone post on the forums that even people who don't own OUWB here on GOG can still see the 50% discount (which would correspond to $5 off the $9.99 price, and the equivalent of whatever it is now that the price has reduced). Though I cannot confirm this point.

I know it's only a matter of pence/cents, but something has happened here and I've not seen anything said by anyone else.

Pond86: Blood is a great game. It can be tough as others have said. For your first time I'd most likely say set up the original with NBlood or the lesser GDX as Fresh Supply has alot of issues at the moment that can spoil it.

(The original comes with Fresh Supply now as it was delisted when Fresh Supply got released here, yet Steam still has the original for sale.)

omega64: It does? Like what, I haven't had any issues so far.
One thing is the lack(or severe cutting back) of gibs when gibbing enemies. Whether this is an oversight or a design choice is hard to tell.

Also many custom mods/maps made by the og blood community don't work with the new version of blood.

avatar
omega64: BloodGDX had both these things iirc.
avatar
Pond86: As does NBlood. It also doesn't need Java. Thats why I dont use GDX.
As someone else said in a thread on another site: Using java isn't that big a deal.......people just like to equate java with bad/etc.

GameRager: i thought games were like air and water....don't humans need a backlog in order to live? 0.o

amok: the backlog is like suspended animation. the longer it is the longer you will live.
I’m going to live forever! This is even better than the fountain of youth.
Wow never played this back in the day never heard of it till a few years ago this game is crazy!

Projectsonic: I'll be honest, they're mostly minor from my experience and my one star review on the page may have been rash, but it's mostly stuff you notice when playing it back-to-back with the original.

-It's not accurate enough to work with many mods, Death Wish is a well known one that's brought up a lot.
-Movement isn't the same, though this can be good or bad depending on your taste. This results in issues like being able to get to a place or two you couldn't in the original.
-Autoaim can be a little too pinpointed.
-There are some pretty minor but still glaring differences, for example dynamite doesn't explode in a ball in midair.
-Minor visual bugs.
-Physics issues, for example enemies should typically be thrown much further back when killed by something that knocks back.
-The occasional wrong sound (cultists)
-MIDI isn't the best quality, apparently this has to do with Roland wanting money?
Hmm... Still haven't got to play the new release, but if this is true, then the best way to play (for me at least) will still probably be just the DosBox version. I am really sensitive when it comes to differences in my favorite old games and most of what you listed would most likely annoy me a lot. And judging from the plethora of issues people are having in the Blood forum section, I will probably stay with the original for now.

Could you guys talk with the developers? They don't want to host the beta patches on GOG.

Quote:
"GOG won't get access to Betas. Sorry but Steam is a bit more flexible with control over this kind of stuff. The final update wil come to GOG at the same time as the other platforms."
I don't think this will happen. Because on steam, with the client, you can switch back to the regular version. Don't know if Galaxy allows this, BUT, users of the off-line installer won't be able to revert. So I don't see betas rolled out on gog going to happen.

Pond86: I don't think it does. However here is a link to the official forum thread for it, so feel free to ask the developer:

MaxFulvus: Will do (but I have few hope), thanks.
Pond86 is correct :(
But let us know if you find any solution!

Galaxy has beta channels. They could at least provide them there.
Just update the regular installers when stable versions hit.

Nice. I already have One Unit Whole Blood, but I am still glad to see this new version here on GOG too. I might actually prefer this version instead, mainly due to the controller support. Which I wonder, how is it? If you prefer playing games in general with controllers instead of mouse and keyboard, do you play Blood: Fresh Supply with a controller too, or is it still better with a mouse and keyboard?

I also have both Shadow Warrior Classic and Shadow Warrior Classic Redux, and even thou I now prefer playing games with a controller, with Shadow Warrior I think I still rather play it the old way, with a mouse and keyboard eheh. Mostly thanks to the inventory I think, but not only.

Any news on why the price dropped within 3 days of release?

Sounds like the update process may still be daunting for developers.
