Looks like this will be popular with a lot of users. Shame it's not my kind of game, but eh, what can you do?
Wow, they finally released it?
Instabuy, right after work :)
This is beautiful. A fine example of how "old style graphics" doesn't necessarily mean "lack of detail".

I'll keep an eye on it.

Yeah, although that depends on the resolution too.
Many AGS games use 320x240 resolution, so they can't even theoretically have as much details.

Speaking of which, this game has a surprising resolution. It's not 640x480, but at least the gamecard says 640x400. I guess they did that to have it widescreen, but it's certainly not an "old school" resolution, because I don't recall any old adventure games using that resolution.
On Steam there is a Mac OS and Linux version:

On gog Windows only?
I've been waiting for this game for years! I'll have to pick it up here one of these days.

A small hiccup on our side but the gamecard has been already updated :)
While looking at this game, I've just realized that the forum for each game is now linked on the game page. Yay! Very useful. It's nice to have something good to say about GOG's UI after the horror of the recent changes.

Oh, and the game looks pretty cool too...
OK, it's released!
So where is Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine?

Good question - I would like to see that one as well.
Nice looking game. Some real good detail in the art.
Oh, globbits! Just when the Christmas sale got my wishlist below 100 items it starts raining great looking games. -#:-}

I think that might be a limitation from Adventure Game Studios part. It might not support 640x480 resolution despite its resolution support has been overhauled. Those lower resolutions probably still are remnants of what the studio has originally supported.

640x400 is the upscaled version of the common 320x200 DOS resolution. So it is, by default, an "old school" resolution. Also, there were a lot of games with oddball resolutions back in the day. Here's a great (practically definitive!) article about it.
