Trails from Zero and its direct sequel Trails to Azure are a part of the Crossbell arc. In Trails to Azure, the story continues from where Trails from Zero left off and follows Lloyd Bannings and the Special Support Section (SSS) as they continue their investigations into the political and social issues plaguing the state of Crossbell. The story delves deeper into the conspiracies and conflicts surrounding the state's power players, including the influential organization called the "Gospel Plan."
Like other games in the Legend of Heroes series, Trails to Azure features a turn-based battle system and focuses heavily on character development and world-building. The game also introduces new gameplay mechanics, such as the "Crossbell Archives" system which allows players to collect and read various reports and documents that provide additional insight into the game's story and world.
Trails to Azure was originally released in 2011 but not outside of Japan.
