This free game offer is a GOG-only initiative and is not affiliated with Trails to Azure.

Since 1989 the series has seen numerous entries and spin-offs over the years, with different sub-series and story arcs within its large franchise. The Legend of Heroes games are known for their intricate, character-driven stories, and turn-based combat systems. They feature a rich fantasy world with a complex political backdrop and deep lore most often revolving around a group of characters on a journey and the relationships between them.

One of the most popular sub-series within the Legend of Heroes franchise is the Trails series, which consists of three different story arcs: the Trails in the Sky series, the Crossbell duology, and the Trails of Cold Steel series. Each of these arcs takes place in the same fictional world of Zemuria and features interconnected storylines, characters, and events.

Trails from Zero and its direct sequel Trails to Azure are a part of the Crossbell arc. In Trails from Zero, the story takes place in the state of Crossbell, a prosperous region that has become a hotbed for political tension and corruption. The game follows the story of Lloyd Bannings, a member of the Crossbell Police Department's Special Support Section (SSS), and his team as they investigate a series of crimes and conspiracies throughout the city.

The game features the same turn-based battle system and world-building as other games in the Legend of Heroes series, but also introduces new gameplay elements such as the ability to swap party members during combat and a new crafting system. It also expands on the world and lore established in the Trails in the Sky series, and sets the stage for the events of Trails to Azure.

In Trails to Azure, the story continues from where Trails from Zero left off and follows Lloyd Bannings and the Special Support Section (SSS) as they continue their investigations into the political and social issues plaguing the state of Crossbell. The story delves deeper into the conspiracies and conflicts surrounding the state's power players, including the influential organization called the "Gospel Plan."

Like other games in the Legend of Heroes series, Trails to Azure features a turn-based battle system and focuses heavily on character development and world-building. The game also introduces new gameplay mechanics, such as the "Crossbell Archives" system which allows players to collect and read various reports and documents that provide additional insight into the game's story and world.

Trails to Azure was originally released in 2011 but not outside of Japan. It is highly regarded among fans of the Legend of Heroes series for its engaging storyline, well-developed characters, and intricate world-building and has also received praise for its improvements and refinements to the gameplay mechanics introduced in Trails from Zero, as well as its attention to detail in presenting the various facets of Crossbell's society and politics.

We’re incredibly excited that the wait for the release is over and we can experience this gem of an RPG in its full glory. We would also like to invite you to join us during our release stream for Trails to Azure, today (March 14th), at 8 PM UTC on our Twitch Channel where Kaoji will jump right in to Special Support Section’s adventures!

Grab The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure – Launch Week Bundle with our GIFT, check out the Legends of Heroes Sale and embark on an incredible RPG adventure!

alexandros050: Both games (Zero and Azure) Just received their updates now.. Don't know if my email had to do anything with that since I did not receive an answer but at least they are now here.
Indeed they have. Offline installers included. Achievement issues should be fixed now. They were only caused when one used imported save data from Zero apparently.

Every little bit helps as they say.

EDIT: Galaxy achievs still not working.....

Lukin86: Good news. But unfortunately ys viii him still not passed. The latest patch released on Steam last year is still missing. But not available on gog.

Is there also a way to communicate with the studio behind the share? This is for patching cold steel for 16:10 resolutions. The sky series and zero, azure are compatible but not the cold steel series.

alexandros050: I don't think Durante is responsible for Ys so you have to contact NISA.. The only way I found to contact them is through here.
https://store.nisamerica.com/contact-us

They also have discord and twitter but I don't really use those platforms.

Also about the cold steel series I think he is done updating them unless something really important comes up. Also probably his contract with Xseed might have expired (Cold steel 1 and 2)
for ys viii last patch confirm. Durante i devellop last patch no available gog

Do you know if we got the dlc released on steam ? Just checked GOGdb and I can see the listed DLC so I assume that has also been released. Did you actually get an answer from NISA or did you contact PH3?

Usually nisa is reliable in terms of updates. But for some unknown reason (probably an oversight) it wasn't patched. Now problem solved. And ph3 works more actively for 16/10 resolutions in current games (zero, azure, reverie) because of the steamdeck. I'm trying to see if he can make a bet about cold steel at least at the mini with 3 and 4 so that they are also compatible with these resolutions.

Lukin86: dlc in my library.
If you preordered, it was already in your library. This isn't "free DLC" in any real sense: Nisa is simply passing out the preorder DLC to other customers - which is only possible because they aren't decent enough to sell preorder content to later customers for a few bucks in the first place.

We need someone to verify that 1.) they didn't preorder and 2.) the DLC was added to their account, or the patch added the content to their game.
