As the subject already states we have to say goodbye to another of our favorite actors of our youth. While the movies he played in the last 10 years or so where nothing to write home about his performances in the 80s and 90s will never be forgotten.

Blind Fury, The Hitcher, Flesh+Blood, Buffy, Split Second and of course Blade Runner to name but a few.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Farewell Rutger and my condolences to his relatives.
Damn. Another one? Give a rest, death. :(
I watched Blade Runner 2049 for the first time today and then i read the news. RIP Rutger Hauer! :(
RIP. I always enjoyed watching him act in whatever film he was in.
Very sad news. He was a great actor and always made the impression of a very intelligent man. Whether it's the truly great movies (Blade Runner) the merely ok ones (Nighthawks) or the fun bad ones (Omega Doom), he was always worth watching.

Sad that he has passed. But that is life, I suppose. One day, it will be my turn.
He was pretty creepy in that Hitcher movie. Sad that he died, not even that old.
Don't forget to also mention >observer_. I own it, but never got it to work, so I can't comment.

RIP Rutger. Sorry to see you go.

Did anyone else like Ladyhawke as much as I did (which is a lot)?
RIP Mr. Hauer and thank you for the movies.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
RIP Rutger Hauer

Looks like I'll be alone in admission to liking Hobo with a Shotgun.

It's sad that a lot of these great character actors tended to be relegated to stunt casting in "auteur" filmmaker's movies late in their lives but in a way I'm glad at least someone was willing to still give them a chance when they've reached or even went past their allotted Hollywood shelf life as it were. Michael Parks, Harry Dean Stanton, Rutger Hauer and the list could go on - the entertainment world is a lesser place without them in it, truly.
I wish him luck picking up angelic hitchhikers on the happy hunting grounds!
What a shame I'll never forget his tears in the rain speech & soundtrack truly memorable.
