Good thing: The memes(pics/vids) wouldn't have been possible if CDPR hadn't messed up so badly...2077 is the bucket-on-head merchant that keeps on giving

It's always amazingly cheap on Play Asia.

No sign of it on the front page. That's a pleasant surprise!

It's on that rotating banner...the one with Biomutant.
(edit: also in the 'featured' and 'discover games' sections below)

But it isn't hiding or overshadowing any of the sales or other things as much anymore...that's good, right? :)

Yeah, it’s likely hidden behind some sort of Z buffer ordering bug just like foliage popping in and out, it will be back on and off.

Canuck_Cat: I agree with agogfan. When it is all patched up in a year or two, it'll be majestic to play. It's just currently a diamond in the rough right now. And by the time I'm ready to play it in a few years, I'll be able to run it at 100+ FPS high settings on midrange hardware.
Good luck with holding your breath there as patches alone won't fix the main core problems with the game. The game is quite playable and always has been, but yes, they sold the game as something else... and what we got doesn't add up to the price we paid.

External flaws or blemishes can be sharpened or "patched", however, diamonds most have some dark spots in them. One simply can't fix diamonds with serious flaws in them. It needs to be flushed throughout and reorganized, or re-made completely from the ground up.

Perhaps Necromunda: Hired Gun is the cyberpunk game we've been waiting for...

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, it might be too late for the innovator and early adopters who preordered the game or bought on day one.

There are examples of games with bad launches that turned out well through patches and expansions: Diablo 3, No Man's Sky, WOW, SW Battlefront 2, SF5, Warframe, etc. FF14 is also an extreme example of them rebuilding de the ground up.

Seeing how significant CP2077 is in CDPR's future roadmaps and business strategy, they're taking a risk on resalvaging this IP by using the Witcher 3 as an economic template of how much more profit they can make off the early majority and late majority demographics. If it really was disastrous, they would've written it off as a sunk cost loss in their board report and start new development on another IP.

The memes, the lessons, etc. Back when i really trusted GOG, i could say "hey, they're a legit company. Their parent company owns the company that created the witcher." Now i can say "hey, you know how everything gets ruined by corporations, Just look at gog and how their developers are tied to both The Witcher and CP2077."

At the same time, I don't hate the game. That's almost like hating a child when he/she is just a product of it's parents...

They should've just shut up and waited at least 2 years and all of this would've never happened. But it seems they got pushed by impatient shareholders, however, the board leaders / CEOs messed up regardless and people are fleeing from them (CDPR).

No, I blame myself for jumping the gun and trusting them. And GOG already had problems with support and response times for almost a year (at least) so getting a refund would be next to impossible. :)

The game is on sale on the Epic Store for a good discount and a coupon with 15 bucks off on top of the discount. Still gonna wait another year I think for the GOTY Edition with all the DLC's. They did lie to us about PS4 so.....

Part of that is because they kinda have to. Iirc, they got in trouble with some EU stuff or lawsuits or other, and have to try to fix it as best they can lest they face legal consequences.

Can't ever be disappointed if you never have any expectations.

IIRC, GOG was able to honour all CP2077 refunds. Would've taken 1-2 months for one, but people got it when they hired on a bunch more people to deal with refunds. You could still try to request wallet credit for it if you're nice about it.

Interesting, thank you. I thought the were only intended to recover damages for false and misleading advertising. The PR reasoning was to honour their "promise to gamers".

They automated refunds now, iirc....one can request a refund for any game in their library via their libraries, I believe.

Whichever action it was, CDPR has to try their best to now fix the game and/or make it as good/playable as they can.
