Hey guys, I'd like to set up this thread as a means of sharing videos from my Youtube channel I hope might be of interest in here (and to keep it all in 1 place so I don't clog up the forum).

Here is my latest slice of nostalgia as I serve up a bit of Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts on the SNES. I hope you like it, please feel free to give any feedback if there are things you think I need to work on

Nice Video.

Looks like this served as an inspiration for Maldita Castilla.
Cheers, I hadn't heard of Maldita Castilla before but just googled it and yeah it looks very much to have inspired it.

Gonna be lots more SNES classics coming like Earthworm Jim and Donkey Kong Country and also plenty of games that I got off GOG... childhood favourites of mine like Little Big Adventure and Beneath A Steel Sky
i enjoyed that, thanks. the game looks really good, plus he was good at it
You just got yourself a new subscriber. :)

I really enjoyed your video, it's nice to see someone who's this good at Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts without sounding like those pompous "PRO" gamers. You seem to know the game inside out (perks of those of us who had not much else to play, back in the day, so we had to actually "git gud" in order to enjoy and even finish what few games we owned) but still manage to stay humble and recognize that, as good at it as you are, there's still a chance you might lose a life or two. I found that to be a nice trait to have when streaming these "hard" games, that way viewers can relate to you instead of just taking you for an elitist snob. Which, fortunately, you don't seem to be.

I also like how you keep naturally chatting with your audience without either going silent or becoming extremely annoying like so many Youtubers tend to do. It felt like I was watching a friend showing me a game they love, and that's a good thing to achieve, so thanks.

As for the technical quality of the video, it looks great, to me, but, then again, it's not really something I care all that much about (I'm more of a twitch.tv person, than a Youtube one, and that alone speaks a lot about how I feel about video quality and editing). Other people more knowledgeable than me can certainly provide you with better feedback, on the technical side.

I will definitely check out your other videos, and I'm looking forward to the second part of Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts! :)

Keep up the awesome work!

Wow what a glowing review! Thank you so much for the kind words.

That's definitely the feel I'm going for, of just like chilling out with friends playing a game, rather than some Youtubers who feel the need to keep screaming all the time to try and keep it 'exciting'.

I upload 1 new video everyday at 8pm (UK time), got another video lined up for tonight but the 2nd part of Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts where I finish it is gonna be up tomorrow (Friday)

Thanks Fortune, I'm glad you like it.

I've had lots of people asking for it so here is the second and final part of Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts. Tune in to see me take down the end of game boss, especially if you've never managed it yourself!

Just watched the vids and subbed. Good stuff, keep it up!
So I've never played Chrono Trigger ever and all I really know about it is that it's supposed to be the best RPG ever... and I love RPGs.

I really wanna play it but would you want to watch me playing the game on the channel for the first time, bearing in mind it'll be my first time experiencing everything about the game so I'll know nothing?

As someone who grew up in the PAL region (Portugal), I didn't get Chrono Trigger until much, much later in time, after it had been overhyped to hell and back and, well, I was younger and less world-savvy, so I bought into some of that hype. I shouldn't have, and I realize that, now, because all Chrono Trigger was, to me, was a huge disappointment. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, but if you go into it thinking things like "best JRPG ever!!!!" or "best SNES game ever!!!!" or even "best game ever!!!!", there's a fairly big chance you're bound to be disappointed with the game.

I wouldn't mind watching you do a blind playthrough of Chrono Trigger, as I really enjoy your videos, but take what I just said into consideration -- also, be advised that this is *a very* long-ass game, so make sure you want -- or are able -- to commit into the the amount of time it would take for you to make it a series. Then again, there would be nothing wrong in just showcasing a few bits and pieces of the game.

I'd also like to mention one of my favourite SNES games, made by Quintet and published by Enix in Japan and Europe:
Terranigma. Sadly, if a game isn't released in the US/NTSC territory, it's kind of doomed to be overlooked and, sometimes, even forgotten, and Terranigma suffers from this fate. I honestly think it's a way better game than Chrono Trigger -- it's one of the best games I've ever played, period --, and if you could get your hands on a copy of it (it might even be available to purchase on Nintendo's eShop, I don't know), I'd love to watch any number of videos of you playing it. Also: as with I said about Chrono Trigger, don't let me overhype Terranigma for you; I'm admittedly biased and blinded by nostalgia. But it *is*, despite all my feelings about it, a great overlooked title that more people should know about.

TL;DR: I'd definitely watch you playing Chrono Trigger, but try not to be too overhyped for it, or it may end up being a disappointment. Also, videos of the awesome Terranigma would be highly welcomed and appreciated. :)
Cheers for the really detailed reply and yeah that's always a worry with a game that's been massively over-hyped. I haven't heard of that game, do you think I'd be able to get it on an emulator seen as I probably couldnt get it in the UK?

Here's the latest installment of Lands of Lore by the way, it just went live at 8pm.

Today we start to decipher the Draracle's riddle and find ourselves in a swamp as we begin our journey to collect the 4 ingredients for the elixir.

Awesome Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts getting some love. The Ghost 'N Goblins series is so good and gets so overlooked IMO. It seems criminal.

Yes, the original is super brutal; difficult and cheap - it was designed that way (designer Tokuro Fujiwara, in an interview, stated how when they were testing the game in the arcades he would watch players play and find ways to make the game more difficult and block advancement).

But the series is hard, it is designed to be a hard series. The spinoff like gargoyles Quest and Demon's Quest are cool games and the transition to 3D games in the series branded as the Maximo games were awesome IMO, too.

And the theme music always gets stuck in my head.

Just another old school franchise Capcom has let die.

Seriously, Capcom put Dragon's Dogma on here, why can't we get Capcom's catalog of great old games. Mega Man series, Ghost 'N Goblins series, Bionic Commando, 1942, 1943, Final Fight, SFII and SFII series.
I did beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts a couple of times back when it was a new game, although it was quite tough and if I was to try it again I'd have to put in some serious practice.

Original Ghosts and Goblins is a total ballcrusher, though. Never could make much headway on that one, although I do love it :)
