Update: Contest closed & winners drawn...thanks to all who entered

=============================================================
Seeing as one of my favorite adventure games has come onto GOG recently, and it's sequel as well, I bought both games for myself and also decided to buy some copies for others who might want such and not be able to get them(as well as to help give others something to do while stuck at home and/or sick/quarantined). :)

(That said, please make sure to read ALL listed rules below for eligibility guidelines/etc)
=============================================================

The rules

Those who are eligible can enter for either both or one of the games listed below....winner(s) will be picked via Random Number Generator.

The contest will run until around April 15th at noon, eastern standard time.

One must be registered before April 2020(though I may make exceptions if one is registered this month but has at least 1 paid game on their account already).

One must answer the following question: What is one thing that scares you a lot?

One must be able to accept PMs from me(in case they win, so I can send them their winnings/code)...this can be done by either setting PMs to allow PMs from all others or to add me as a friend during this contest.

One should make sure they have a supported OS that can run the game they enter to win(this is to make sure one can play what they win)

Other guidelines(optional)

I'd like a person entering to win for themselves or to give it to a friend/relative....not to trade or sell the key...though of course one is free to do what they want with their winnings.

An uprate on just this OP post(to keep the down-raters at bay) is appreciated, if one chooses to do so, but giving such out to the people who take the time to enter/reply in general and to those who post nice/interesting entries is even more appreciated.
-----------------------------------------------

The games given out will be 3 copies of each of the following games:

Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle(Barrow Hill 1)

and

Barrow Hill: The Dark Path(Barrow Hill 2)
-------------------------------------------------

Runner-Up Prize

Also given out will be a rep prize(5 rep) to whomever answers the above question the best or makes the best post.
--------------------------------------------------

That said, the contest is now open....GL all. :)

Not entering, but for the sake of things it's heights and needles. So I won't be skydiving over Seattle any time soon.
Nice, man!! These games look interesting.

In for both.

As for your question, what is one thing that scares me a lot, that's easy...mandatory Galaxy DRM! But if you prefer a more serious (though I am seriously against DRM) "non-GOG" answer that goes a lot deeper let me try this one: the tendency of humans to be swayed by the art of rhetoric even when it flies in the face of other properties of reality.
Not in, not much of a horror game guy. Scariest game I played was subnautica a 10/10 survival game.

I will be in for that runner up prize tho ^-^

I have similar fears...heights and also(albeit to a lesser extent) needles.....plus some others.

BTW is that just IRL or in games as well?

I've seen that somewhat(in general) and dislike it as well.

You sure? They aren't that scary(mostly jump scare type stuff every so often and a tense mood throughout), and are pretty good adventures.

Anyways if you change your mind then lemme know. :)

I hear ya on that....it can be creepy...especially in old buildings.

Thank you.....but some of the credit goes to the other kind souls on GOG who do the same thing, I think. They and others inspire(d) me to do such things as much as I can.

Also entered, and good luck. :)

(BTW I love yer avatar picture :D)

I'll throw my hat in for the games...

The one thing that scares me the most at the moment is not COVID-19 - but, due to the fact that there is currently no sport, cinemas, shows, social gatherings or most other forms of entertainment allowed, being shanked by someone who has gone batshit crazy through boredom...

But hey, if I win, that crazy person will at least not be me!! :P

Or someone doing such to get food(I saw a few people standing on corners asking for food :(), medicine, etc.....or because they see a weakness in the system(policing) and want to exploit it.

Those are my actual fears (there's others but this is your contest thread and not Phobias Anonymous so I just went with the two that rest high up on my list).

Strangely enough, I can handle needles in games but heights are a different story altogether. I'd actually posted about it here before some years ago but there are certain games that manage to replicate the experience of being up too high almost too well.

The example I gave then still applies now, even though the game is "old" by modern standards, and that's Half-Life 2. Specifically the section where the player is forced to walk across metal scaffolding that's high above the actual ground. Not only does that section give me cold sweats when playing it, the fact that the sound design during it also replicates that eerie whooshing of wind coupled with the creaking of the metal scaffolds as the wind hits them just makes it rough for someone with that fear to experience.

I also have a strange habit when it comes to video games with elevators. I typically tend to jump as they descend to get a feeling of momentary flight with whatever character I'm playing. Each time I do it, I get that pseudo-queasy feeling in my stomach that usually comes from experiencing changes in elevation suddenly and jarringly. It's still fun to do, if nothing more than being able to judge exactly how high you would need to be before a game registers an injury to the player character... or if it does so at all.

I know they are...I was just asking what you just answered(i.e. if they affected you in games as well or not).

Yeah, that stuff bothers me sometimes as well.

BTW an aside: Are you into Mel Brooks/comedies?

If so a film called high anxiety might be up your alley(it deals with that as part of the theme of the film). :)

I do that as well, and also making lifts go up without me on them to see if there's secret passages/secrets under them(some games do this).

A toll is a toll. And a roll is a roll. And if we don't get no tolls, then we don't eat no rolls.

Now, 'scuse me while I whip this out.

...and I could go on but you get the idea.

I have not seen that one though. I'll try to check it out at some point in the future.

It is a very good film, a sort of parody/homage in part to the classic film Vertigo.
My friend not in this time, but great spooky giveaway, +1

But, i want to answer the question anyways, hell i really hates frogs men, i know the great part would not kill but i really dont ilke them, when i see one, i had a strange feeling it like (ahgggg) , i´ll say it not fear what i feel i just disgust.
