Zimerius: Why are you trying to determine what is helpfull or not? I think i explained myself quite clearly.

eric5h5: You didn't. The OP asked about getting a PS5 controller to work and you mumbled something about getting an Xbox controller instead and Xboxes needing certification. Do you seriously not understand that telling someone to spend a lot of money on getting something they don't need or want is unhelpful?
how to get a ps5 controller to work on a pc.... that was the question....

Yes, and it was answered, as per the second post. 1) Plug it in, 2) If you want wireless then use DS4Windows. The answer is not "buy an Xbox controller".

But why was it then my answer? Why would you forgo the whole instance of me providing an answer. An answer what apparently in my head rang as true? I find it quite insulting to be told that my answer is not answer based on the simple fact that, there was already an answer. Judged by someone who not even provided for the topic. outside telling me that my answer is not answer..... It was not even wrong, it was just not an answer

I don't know if there's some language barrier or what, but this isn't getting anywhere. Anyway the question was ACTUALLY answered in the second post; hopefully the OP read that and has things working now.
Works out of the box on Linux.

Steam also comes with a advanced controller setup thing, i believe even the haptic triggers work in almost all cases out of the box

Yes, I believe Steam can be used as well.
now imagine that.....

So if you play games through steam, you only need to connect your ps5 controller either by usb c cable or bluetooth connector and it will work. Maybe even with the ps5 button indications ingame though of that i ain't sure. It would surprise me btw if this would rang true in any and all possible game cases but at least it is another option. You even might be able to add games not bought on steam to a steam library and still make use of these advanced controller options.

i still think that ps5 controllers should be kept far and far away from any microsoft device but hey, that might be my inner youthfull pro corp self talking

makes one curious if there might be yet another solution for using a PS5 controller on the p.c.
Speaking of 8bitdo, I believe their universal adaptor should allow a PS5 controller to be used wirelessly.
