darthspudius: Pretty much this. But at the same time the amount of people that owned the game that complained that they were taken down in the first place was a bit strange. I mean if you own them, why is it such a concern. I can understand for those that missed them first time round but it's all a bit blown up and exaggerated.
It is a concern for any platform that loses games and is not capable of regaining them - both are concerns in their own right.. It then has the potential to hurt future growth; anyone who would find gog via the purchase of these games (they are classic games that will always have this effect) and stay here as a result will no longer end up doing so. Anyone who just hears the negative news and thinks the site is not worth trying as a result before even getting here will be lost sales etc. And it also helps the competition - competition that hardly needs the help.
