keeveek: And a little something that summarizes most of the greatest hits these days:

I was going to paste this same exact link the moment I saw the thread title :D
I actually don't really care, I'm as un-music as one can be. I enjoy music with total ignorance, and I like it that way ;-P.

keeveek: By the way, please enjoy Rock in Rio live on youtube , what an awesome idea!

I wonder why they keep that name. It's neither rock nor in Rio anymore.

Probably for the best, it is easy to become kind of jaded and pretentious with your music taste otherwise if you think too much about it. For me most love songs now sound like this:

First day: Metallica, Sepultura, Kreator NOT ROCK AT ALL

Rock in Rio every two years is in Brazil and every two years it's in Portugal. Next year - Brazil.

I just saw the playlis on that link. Next: Ivete Sangalo. Really?

I know it still has some good rock and sometimes it goes to Rio, but the name still comes across as odd.
The name is the most recognizable name for music festival in the world, no doubt they don't even think of changing it.

And yes, kids these days, don't want to listen to rock music anymore :P
I like Porcupine Tree's interpretation of the state of the music industry:

Four Chords That Made a Million.

YESSSSSSS i was in Rock in Rio last year here in Brazil, it was AWESOME. Oh lord, Metallica and System of a Down were fucking AMAZING. I was quite surprised with Evanescene too, became a fan since ive been to their concert. But of all the shows i saw, Slipknot was definately the best, no other band had so much energy or interaction with the public. I always love when Sid Wilson jumps into the crowd. Oh, and Spit it Out is increadible live. Damn, they managed to get 100 thousand people jumping on that one. Not to mention the whole crowd singing Duality.

Cant wait for the next Rock in Rio.

I disagree with you there. Even though it doesnt feature exclusively rock, most are rock bands. Check the playlist for it last year here in Brazil. Out of 7 days of Rock in Rio, 4 had exclusively rock bands.

The first one had Capital Inicial, Stone Sour (fucking awesome too because of Corey Taylor), Snow Patrol, another band i dont remember, and Red Hot. The second one had only metal bands, including Angra, Sepultura, Matanza, Coheed and Cambria, Motorhead, Slipknot and Metallica. The third one had some bands i dont remember now and Maroon 5 and Coldplay. Ok, i agree, Coldplay is more pop than rock nowadays (and it SUCKS), but its still not absurd to have them on a rock event. The last day had Mutantes, Detonautas, Pitty, Evanescence, System of a DOwn and Guns n roses. Definately a lot of rock in my opinion.
