I personally think $9.99 for old games are too much for my taste. $5.99 is the right price for good old games. I guess all those steam and digital purchases had changed my judgement on prices.

Or if people still insists on higher prices, many having a bundle would be good, $5.99 for 1, if u buy another $5.99 game, it really changes to $9.99 is a sweet deal.

What do you think of the prices?
they are low enough to warrant impulse purchases. sure i would love everything to be priced at six bucks but difference of 3 bucks is not something i care about.

3 bucks doesnt buy you a bottle of coke in australia for example.
Really.. 9.99 for some awesome classic games too much?

Little factoid: GoG's 2 price structure allows them to have a larger variety of games - if they only had a 5.99 price then I am betting many of the publishers wouldn't have signed deals with the GoG team.
It's really up to the publisher which price they want to list it at. Some of the $10 games on here I don't think are worth it, but for some of the other games I consider it a bargain, it's all about context.
If it's something that I'm really interested in, I'll pay the ten bucks.

A game that generates moderate interest will be considered if/when it's on sale.

The only other DD site I use is GG for brand new releases, so prices/sales elsewhere aren't a factor for me.

Yeah it's 4 bucks. The .99 can be a brain juggler.

Also, ten bucks is sometimes a real bargain, considering the staggering amount of toil the Gog team had to go through to get you a DRM release of a desired game.
Prince of Persia is on my wishlist. It's $9.99. Now, I could try finding a used copy somewhere for the XBox/PS2 or even PC. (Not easy.) Then, if I did find one for less than GOG's price, it might not work. Or, it could be missing the ever-important instruction manual. (Bad. Very bad.)

But at GOG, I'll get a guaranteed working copy of the game, a manual in PDF format, and other goodies, I think. Not bad for $9.99, eh? See, it's all in how you look at it.
If you think a $9.99 game is too expensive, either wait for it to go on sale or don't buy it.

Personally I think anything under about $20 is a fair price for most video games, and some of the games GOG gets are ones that you'd be hard pressed to get for much under $30 if you tried to buy a retail copy, and if you want to try and get a brand new, mint condition retail copy .. hee, good luck with that.

That being said, there's some games on GOG, I wouldn't pay $6 for, or even $3.

*Insert Homer's favorite word... which is not beer or ham*

of course its 4 bucks. which does buy you a bottle of coke...

point still stands for me. never cared about prices of individual games.
Fun fact: the objective value of these games hasn't changed a bit, while their prices have fallen dramatically.
If someone were to follow the method of buying a new GOG game once he beat the last one... I'm pretty certain his entertainment spending over time would've been significantly lower, compared to many alternatives.
Also - $9.99 games ARE, at times, packs. How long would blasting through Battle Isle 1-3 + expansion packs + Incubation (with its expansion) take ?
Hell - Heroes 2 is $9.99 and while it's considered one of the most overpriced titles on GOG, the campaigns alone can keep a guy occupied and entertained for quite a while.

This doesn't mean much when we're dealing with consumptionism-infected collectors such as myself, though ;P. Then again - if people buy games to have them, not to play them... the price shouldn't really be an issue, since they're not really under any time pressure.
The only point at which I'd take the "overpriced" argument seriously would be if people wanted to play a specific game from the catalog RIGHT NOW but the price actually kept them from buying it. Which is unlikely.
$9.99 is reasonable keeping in mind two things.

1. Getting an old game to run on Vista and Windows is often a non trivial task and takes time and effort. Worth a couple bucks extra? Sure.

2. If there is a problem with a GoG game, both the helpful community and GoG devs will do their best to get you up and running. Worth a couple bucks and a real deal at the price, IMHO!

So $5.99 plus $4.00 is $9.99. There you are.

Never thought of it that way before. You're a genius!

Not a bad price by all means... Until I tell you that I got Prince of Persia, Sands of Time, Forgotten Sands, Two Thrones and Warrior Within all for $15 just two weeks ago during the steam summer sale. Just then, the $10 for Sands of Time suddenly become much less of a good deal :P

Samuelc79: What do you think of the prices?
I'll pay $50 if the game is good. Spent $50 for Starcraft 2 (yea, I know this is for GOGs, but still the point stands) and I do not regret it.

Age doesn't really matter to me, unless the game has REALLY aged badly in terms of gameplay (/care about the graphics as long as the game is fun and runs properly).

GOG-related, of those GOGs that I own, only Darkstar is overpriced, the game is really not worth playing (I failed with that purchase).
