And yes, it's so good it's more like the first and the best one. Where is my soundtrack? I have to listen to Age of Wonders - Battle Macabre

Triumph made an awesome trailer for AoW3. Looks like it might be insta buy for me.

This looks great...hope GOG gets it. Thanks for sharing
Post-release you can expect a more classes, races, city upgrades, units, heroes, magical items, spells, map locations, scenarios and story campaigns added as DLC. Mysterius BIG partner > Paradox ?
Well then, I know what I'll be playing this autumn.
sweet day 1 buy from me cant have enough magical turned based games.
Just last week I was playing the original for the millionth time and thinking how I would love a new one. Between this and the Witcher 3 announcement, it's been a pretty damn good week.
**Just copied and pasted from my.. ahem.. accidentally created duplicate post...**

Hey

I just watched the announcement trailer over at Rock Paper Shotgun and I saw the GOG.com logo at the end...This makes me almost giddy. Now if only it were 2014 (randomly guessed release year).

No gameplay on the trailer however I love the AoW games (SM being my favourite) and I'm sick of watching new HoMM games come out when AOW is better (imo).

Might need to play AOW:SM some more now.

The detail looks cool in those screenshots. I'm currently playing the first one off and on and hopefully I'll finish it before summer (dark campaign).

My laptop is no condition to run any game released past 2007 except for retro-style ones so I'll have to wait quite awhile when I finally get a new PC.
Certainly nice to see a new AoW games in the works that's likely to be faithful to the first two. However, I didn't care much for this bit:
Post-release you can expect a more classes, races, city upgrades, units, heroes, magical items, spells, map locations, scenarios and story campaigns added as DLC.
For me that turns a possible day-1 buy into a "wait six months and buy the discounted bundle."
Not sure if i'm happy or not.
I'm more psyched for the new Eador game though ^^
I'm not unhappy everyone is getting a new edition of a game that they dearly love but (maybe by PM so as to not derail the thread) can someone distill why these games appeal to so many? I have been bored to tears each and every time I've tried to play one. I'd actually like to see whatever charm everyone sees in them, I just don't, maybe if someone can explain it, maybe I've been "holding it all wrong" or something...

Come over to the AoW forum and play a multiplayer game. For me personally, that is where the true joy comes from. I can't play solo anymore with the AI after seeing what humans can do in the same sandbox. :)

My only regret is being introduced to this game (AoW:SM) only last year. All those years spent playing HoMM and no one told me about this alternative path to fun. Dammit. But now I have something to look forward to at least: AoW3.
