Accompanied by the release of the sequel and the addition of EA to the GOG catalogue, I think GOG should release the original American McGee's Alice. There are very few if any ways to purchase Alice digitally, and I would certainly buy the first one, just to see if I will like the second in the series. If people buy Alice, like it, and then buy the second one, it would be a Win-Win situation for both GOG and EA.

Anyone else agree?

American McGee's Alice has an old demo available if you want to check it out.
No, I mean the full game.

Now that GOG has EA, why can't they release it?

I'm sure they would make tons of money given that the new game just came out and the PC version of Madness returns doesn't include the original game.

They can't release it because doing so would invalidate the space-time continuu.......oh shit!

Actually the proper reason is because EA said no for now, for some reason. And Gog would like to release more games and all, but doing so without the IP holder's permission is one thing even Gog cannot do. :\
I don't know why not, but okay.

EA should seize the opportunity before everyone just pirates it.

Oh well.
Its a bitch to get the Quake 3 engine working well on modern hardware.... i would love to see GOG work there magic on this title.... or maybe Heavy Metal FAKK2 ^_^

FAKK 2...lol what happened to FAKK 1?

But yeah I wish for this too, ifor more than to just see Julie Strain's pixelated jumblies onscreen again. Can't even get a proper torrent of this game, that's how rare it is.

Do we know that Alice isn't amongst the 25+ titles that they're going to be releasing. Well, I guess that would be what, 21+ to go?

By no I meant they said no for the first batch of releases....:P

Ob viously it could come in the fall with the other EA releases, but for now it's the big middle finger F-U NO to us. :(

whew, I was concerned that you knew something that I didn't know about that. Unlike Syndicate and System Shock where they've specifically stated that they're working on it.

I wish Dreamcatcher would sign up myself, so I can see Harbinger. I even made a thread about it, hoping to drum up some support...guess no one's heard of it. :\
I'd be surprised if EA doesn't capitalise on this in a month or so and sell it on origin themselves. Keep it exclusive, and all the cult lovers will go buy it, etc etc etc... Since alice is a property that they've gotten a lot of interest in again, they will make the most of it.

I would guess they will sell it on Origin as DLC for Madness Return, same as the consoles. I would of course like to be surprised with a GOG release or even a standalone Origin release.

It would suck to buy it on Origin and then have it pop-up on GOG a week later.
I think the standalone release will happen, at least on the consoles.
If they did release it i don't think they should charge much at all for it considering EA were very happy to just give it away for free to the people who preordered Madness Returns.
