Thiefer: In case anyone is wondering, the game will run on WinXP, though is not officially supported, but those running it on XP (as far as I've seen) are the ones reporting the overheating issues. It's also a toss-up if it'll run on XP at all...some report no issues, while others can't even get it to start.
I love when people force games to do what they aren't supposed to, then complain they're broken when things go wrong.

Luisfius: Apparently it makes processors overheat. I think I'll wait for a patch, and/or it to be in a bundle.

People should just let go of XP already, Not even maggots want that corpse now.
Publisher: Microsoft Studios

So I have to ask, does it have extra DRM?
Don't see any DRM listed on the Steam page. NeoGAF has also mentioned that the creator of the game specifically worked to avoid the integration of Games for Windows Live. Odds are that there is no DRM, aside from the Steam client itself.

It'll do it on Win 7 too, The game has a Bug that makes the CPU run at max power so if your cooling system is not good enough it will overheat. If you're having trouble Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL while the game is running and then click on the processes tab. Under that there will be "DustAET.exe". Right click on that and then select Set Affinity. This will allow you to select the cores, Uncheck at least half of them. You'll have 2 cores running 100% but the CPU will be 50% and your cooling system should be able to handle it.

As for the game, I really like it. It's a fun Metroidvania brawler with fun characters and a decent plot. I find Fidget a great partner that makes the story less dull and Dust isn't bad for the mysterious badass trope. The Aesthetics are some of the best in a videogame, a great world with some well designed furries.

Just that bug can be nasty.

DaCostaBR: I was really tempted to buy this game today, and still might, but isn't their summer sale in a few weeks? I'm thinking maybe I should control myself and wait for it since it should have a bigger discount by then.

Perhaps you should do the same? Whatever problems it has they should be well detailed, or maybe even fixed, by then.
It might be up to two months from now, sale started sometime in July last year.
I'm playing it now... about 40 minutes in... quite fun...

Oh, I joined Steam September last year so I didn't see the summer sale, I just remembered someone saying it started late June, must have been mistaken then. Not that it matters though, I ended up buying it yesterday, figured that such a new game should be 25% off at the most and the extra 15% discount were quite negligible for a game that is so cheap as it is. Plus, I find myself with more money than time these days, so it's better to buy it now than wait and not have the time to play it later on.

As for the game itself, it's very good. I'm still just in the beginning but the combat is pretty fun and there is already a glimpse of the exploration to be had. The voice acting I heard in that video posted earlier was pretty cringe inducing but, even though I still skip the dialogue as soon as I finish reading it, I have kinda warmed up to it and it no longer bothers me. There is this thing though that your highest skill can't be more than four points apart from your lowest skill which kinda irked me, I was hoping to make a glass cannon and put all my points into attack and not a single one into HP or defense.

There does seem to be a problem with the processing power however. I have an i7 processor and while Call of Juarez: Gunslinger takes only 5% of the CPU this game takes 50%. Luckily that's not enough to negatively affect anything. Maybe if you have multiple cores it only takes control of some of them.

Apparently if you change affinity so it only uses one or two cores, it decreases CPU load without affecting performance a bit. Worth trying.

(Will wait for it to be in a bundle and patched)

It has started in June also, it varies from year to year.
Best game that I've played over the past several years.

Ran smooth fresh after install.
Had no issues with my Logitech set to X-Input.
And like Fortune Summoners and A Valley w/o Wind before it, it's my kinda game.
As a Note, they seemed to have patched out the CPU problem, my CPUs were running normally the last few times I played it so I didn't ahve to mess with Affinities.

I also beat the game, it has a really good ending, one of the best in the games I have played.
