SimonG: Alright you two. I pre-ordered it!
Only reason I've not pre-ordered yet is that I still can't find the Special Edition in Greece, and I'll probably end up ordering from the UK...
Let's see if the newer store to put it up for sale has the Special Edition.
Grrr, I want that badge...

Special edition?

Like retail? *shudders*.

Artbook, Poster, Badge, for ~4 more euros than the Steam version. I won't be getting the TF2 items or the extra gift copy of Civ V, but imho the trade is worth it.
On the other hand, one could probably get a RU copy for ~$20...

Sounds like a decent deal. But I'm no longer getting any retail stuff. To much of a hassle.

On a related note, going completely off-topic, do you know if the current Xenonauts build is worth a play. I need my fix!

You'll probably have to ask lowyhong (or one of the other backers) about it, didn't really like it for the asking price, thus I didn't back it.
I could try to tempt you with JA2 1.13 though, if your fix requires tactical squad level combat, but I guess you need alien shooting instead :P
Edit: Removed the typo, since it served its purpose and summoned the intended one ;)

I always read "lowly hung".

Which probably says more about me than about you ;-).

SimonG: I won't pre-order it, because the demo was lacking,
avatar
JMich: Again with the demo...
Did you try the demo editor yet to see a bit more of how a later game mission may go?
And no, I'm not stalking you (I think)...
Edit: Added link to the editor.
Just curious, does the editor allow to skip the first mission?

IF I GET TOLD HOW TO USE COVER ONE MORE TIME...

Seems so, best to take a look at the linked thread though.

anjohl: All I am saying is that you fit their business plan, so you are thus not protesting anything.
All I'll say is they you still miss the point. That being, I save money when they expected me to pay more.

It does allow you to skip the first tutorial mission, but then it bugs out (for some reason) and you are only able to have one type of alien enemy in the second mission (which ever one you pick to replace - or not replace - the sectoids in the first revel area), and you can't get more than a squad of four.

To get a full squad of six (with various classes so it is useful) and to have three different types of aliens at the three revel points you need to play through the tutorial mission unfortunately. I'm not sure why it is bugged like that.
" Are you looking forward to XCOM ? "
No .
