kavazovangel: No idea, tbh. Devs should just wait until Windows 8 to integrate their games with Windows Live.
If MS release a new GFWL with Win8 that addresses all of its most significant problems (that works on Win 7 too) then that will be another reason to look forward to it.

In fact, given that it seems to require a hardware upgrade that's about the only reason I have right now. But it's quite a good one as I have quite a few GFWL games.

wodmarach: Thats the reason Windows8's integration with GFWL means it will work straight away in 8
But is that Windows' definition of 'work', or GFWL's?

Hmm... well, that's got to be an improvement. The 360 would have disappeared without a trace if it wasn't.

Honestly, dunno if GFWL will continue to exist. Since Windows Phone's gaming is based on XBOX LIVE (not the 360, don't confuse them), it is a good bet to expect that 8's gaming will also be based on XBOX LIVE (multiplayer experience between 360 and PC gamers).

Anyway, 8 will integrate Windows Live in a way that you log on Windows with your Windows Live ID. Whatever you buy through the Windows Store (including games) you get to keep on your Windows Live account. When you log in with your account on another PC, you can easily download on it whatever you bought through the Windows Store.

Hahah, as much as I love Microsoft's other products, that piece of software is a disaster, I agree.
What does it mean by DX11 tesselation?

In DX11 you can create more polygons procedurally to add more detail while keeping polygon count down for slower cards for example

Navagon: Can someone explain to me with small words and big pictures just why it is that GFWL is still in use by... anyone?
Because in theory it's a great idea. Consumers would probably like a product that had MS style testing behind it (yes, it's fucking anal, but you get less broken games this way, though somehow Bethesda manages it still) and I think you can earn achievements and gamerscore on either platform. I know it doesn't work that way in practice, but the theory is sound and eventually MS will hit a Windows 7 version of the whole concept (i.e. one that actually fucking works).

PhoenixWright: Is it illegal to use UE3 if you don't use a certain color palette and big fat meaty characters?
I don't know but have you seen the size of Batman compared to Catwoman in that game? Holy hell is she small and his character must be 6 foot 6 inches even without the cowl!

Navagon: It's not a criminal matter. But Epic will say mean things about your parents on Twitter.

doccarnby: Huh. That's odd.

Navagon: Which bit? The save game corruption is apparently standard. Try backing up your saves and then reinstalling the game. Saves won't work. They're encrypted by GFWL so you can only use them with that install.

Naturally I don't recommend you try this with any valuable saves. You will lose them all if you do this.
I haven't tried it myself but you're supposed to back up your key, if you do this your saves reportedly (by folks on this forum) work fine.

Navagon: I wish I knew that sooner. AA didn't strike me as a game that was playable offline. I seem to have a copy that's worse than most people's.
People don't seem to realize about offline profiles in GFWL games. They see "you must sign-in to a profile" and assume that means an online sign-in, but it doesn't. Just create a local machine profile and use that. The only reason to activate GFWL games is to use online features.

Branching off from that, GFWL was not DRM when it started. Fallout 3, GTA4, etc... not DRM. You can never activate it and the game still works great. Unfortunately they added a DRM activation during install when Dead Rising 2 came out and I believe every GFWL game since then has followed suit.

I'm still more excited to see Quinn... again!

Harley's new costume is even more awesome (i.e. hot) than the last one! With that said, gotta play some more Batman now!
I assume the videos on the left look like the console version?

StingingVelvet: People don't seem to realize about offline profiles in GFWL games.
The problem I had with AA is that I already had an online profile. So GFWL automatically linked the game to that before I could even do anything else with the game. Maybe if I had an online profile back with Fallout 3 it would have been the same story with that. Who knows.
necro post.

Is arkham city that bad that its 50% off in the steam sale and not even 1 month old? I know its steam but still
