He who dies pays all his debts.

Omerta is a rule or code that prohibits speaking or divulging information about the activities of a criminal organization. However, since you--GOG gamers--are practically members of <i>the family</i>, our friends from Kalypso have decided to disclose some of the information about the upcoming gangster-sim set in 1920s Atlantic City. Mind you, they cannot reveal everything and their time is limited, but if you are wondering what the heck [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/omerta_city_of_gangsters]Omerta - City of Gangsters is all about, or want to know more about the secrets of Kalypso Media Digital, just shoot (ha ha ha).

We will select the ten best answers from the comments below and send them to the developers of Omerta - City of Gangsters. In addition to that, one of the commenters below (selected randomly) will receive a free copy of Omerta.
What historical events were the developers inspired by in the game?
How "serious" does the game takes itself? I mean does the story has any humorous characteristics, like Tropico for example, or is a more serious one?
For later plans, will you give more content to multiplayer? Like, mob vs police mod or some other different multiplayer mode ideas? Or you guys want to focus on singleplayer ( stories and challanges) ?
Having watched come pre-release game play I have a question about the pacing of the real time portion of the game. Will the player be able to adjust the speed at which events trigger? Some of the players seem to be a bit overwhelmed when events start popping up all over town.
Overall the game looks like a fun take on the gangster motif.
What was the most interesting/fun part about making the game for you guys?
Which is the main focus of the game - strategic gameplay or tactical gameplay?

Will we be able to choose our ethnicity (Irish, Italian, etc), and if so what effects will that have in the game?
Basically, I'd like to see more detail given on the henchmen you have. Will your decisions affect your pool of recruitables, or their opinion of you? Will your gangsters share gameplay mechanics driven personality quirks and even develop love/hate relationships with each other in the vein of the Jagged Alliance games?

I am asking myself this question with every game of Haemimont: Why no bulgarian language for the bulgarian market guys, you are a bulgarian dev team?
What made you all decide to offer the game here on GOG, and what would you say to other developers that are considering selling their games here?
Since the game is entitled Omerta, will the game contain any other "codes" and traditions followed by the mob? If I remember correctly Omerta is one of their code, I think it was the code of silence or something.
Will you be able to build businesses (Legal and Criminal) in the game or will you have to find one already operating and take it over? I've played Gangsters: Organized Crime and like the aspect of building an empire of both Front Businesses and Criminal Businesses like speakeasies, and whorehouses. Also, will you have the ability to "influence" people/groups like politicians, law enforcement, or labor unions?
How big are the cities you play in?

Do people really "live" there (having a home and doing everyday work, like in Tropico) or are pedestrians etc. just placed randomly?
Was there any really cool historical detail you wanted to include in the game, but couldn't? If so, why?
Are there any innovations in Omerta that the development team is particularly excited about, game play, interface, or otherwise?
