Ooh you can only get Mafia 2 and not the original on Steam these days, not sure about other DD sites...

PixelBoy: Oh, such a great game that is.
KISS: Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child.

It really is a shame that it's not available for purchase. I have my CD copy, so I'm fine, but all those gamers who don't have a chance to play it... sigh.
Agreed. The game is fantastic (and by far the best Lithtech-powered game made before NOLF). I also have a physical copy lying around somewhere, so I'm good. It's the German version BUT - as unbelievable as it may seem - it is completely uncut. KISS may not be as good as Painkiller but it certainly has Serious Sam beaten IMO and it sucks that it's most definitely doomed to remain lost and forgotten, at least unless copyright law gets radically changed and all KISS members suddenly bite the dust. :P

Yeah, the original Mafia disappeared a while ago. I'm still wondering whether it happened due to issues relating to the game itself or some licensed content.

IAmSinistar: Also, why not Lula: The Sexy Empire?
Hell yeah, I never got to play that one but two of my friends played it and enjoyed it a whole lot.

tfishell: Are any of the Lula games actually any good? Wikipedia says "Lula 3D" was horrible.
That's the only Lula title I've played, and for largely the same reason that Novotnus plays terrible games. :)

It's not great by any definition, pretty much a subpar LSL with equally annoying puzzles. More visually salacious, but still done with a sense of humour rather than genuine eroticism. Amusing enough for a the first part of the game, but didn't hold my interest enough to continue with the subsequent chapters.

I'd say Lula 3D is better than the Virtual Valerie titles, which is a low bar to begin with, if only because Lula has more sexual bonhomie than VV, which is joylessly mechanical.

Leroux: Max Payne, which would be a great opportunity for GOG to finally introduce region locks! (Never mind that the game was removed from the index by now, it's too much hassle to keep up with German laws anyway.)

EDIT: Oh, sorry, that game is currently available on digital distribution for others, it's just so easy for Germans to forget. :P
Strangely enough, you can buy Steam codes for this game on Amazon Germany but not on the German Steam store. >_>

Isn't the first Mafia game currently unavailable?

Ah, I see that has already been mentioned.

Niggles: Isnt Civ 3 and 4 the best of the series? (5 is oversimplified)
avatar
timppu: When Civ 6 comes out, people will say Civ 5 was the best of the series. :)
Yup, in Civ 6 when you select New Game you directly get to see the endsequence where your rocket will fly to the stars.

Wow, you're right; I didn't know that. That's weird, even all the offers for international Max Payne keys on Kinguin.net (key reseller) state:

Due to restrictions from Steam it is forbidden to activate this product in Germany, to activate this product on your own responsibility, please contact our support team after purchase to help you with the activation on Steam.*

Maybe it's because Amazon can verify your age (can they)?

(* Pretty weird statement in the first place though. "It is forbidden, but we'll help you to do it"?)

Getting Manhunt 2 on GOG would be a big win, since it would be the last AO rated game that's worth having.

Well, Amazon.de asks you for your personal ID number the first time you order a code for 18+ games. So yeah, they seem to have that covered from a legal angle. I got the game back in December, and the code activated on Steam without any hassle. No VPN or other tricks necessary.

I was checking my CD collection and didn't realise that Take-2 had published <span class="bold">Millenia: Altered Destinies</span>. I'd quite like to see GOG bring this one back, as it's a pretty unique game. You have a timeship that is largely stuck in one place but unfettered in time, and you seed and cultivate different civilisations in order to bring them up to the level where they can repair you ship. It is rewardingly complex and engaging.
