Hmmm...OK, some new game announcements. Nice but not a huge event given most have been offered DRM-free elsewhere (notably in the HumbleBundle) - though doubtless those who missed out on HB will find it useful.

New site - blech! I've always been critical of GOG's site as being a slow loader (a front page exceeding 1MB doesn't help) and now it's doubled in size! Please either put the web designers on a diet, or *at least* offer the option of a fast-loading slimmed-down mainly-text site.

In addition we now no longer see news body text on the front page - that's definitely a retrograde step.

Tormentfan: Doesn't matter what was written before.. it's no longer an acronym.. so capitalisation across the board is no longer relevent, and as 'G.O.G' doesn't actually appears ANYWHERE, it shouldn't be used.

Lexor: Not only acronyms have capital letters - many companies has names with capitals letters only.
You're just grasping at straws now mate. Fact is there's no reason for capitalisation now, it doesn't hold the same relevence.
avatar
Lexor: I can see GOG in title. And on banner it's logotype - letters in logo can be different than in actual name (look at Intel - Intel is the name but they have intel in logo)
Also there was "gog" in logo before this announcement.

Dude, it's been lowercase for a long time, now. in spirit, it's still GOG. At the very least, it's definitely not GoG.

It's not 'GOG' in spirit anymore.... it's just gog.

If gog wants to change their focus fair enough, it's their company.. but I'm not just going to support any brushing over that fact.

GOG was Good Old Games...... this is now gog.

Whatever. I'm not gonna argue with you about this, because you've obviously got your mind made up.
why do you guys even give care about whether it's capitalized or not? It's completely unimportant as far as I can see.

anyhoo, throw me in with the group of people who aren't a fan of the top bar

Yes, I do.

But unlike others I don't have to stretch for justifications that it's still the same site.
Just few remarks:
- take this top bar off the page - I keep mixing it with a bar of my browser
- news post should contain ehm… piece of news
- I preferred the old, text based list for headlines
- I’m a bit worried about this ‘social integration’ - even now I feel kinda being ignored when some important news are posted exclusively (or first) on Twitter.
- as for new games – I'm fine with it as long as those games fit in - so quality & inventiveness is a priority. From the titles you released & plan to release - it looks good.

Oh great, another jaded one.
For me it's still the same site.

What you call jaded, I call unblinkered.. I see it for what it is.. and not for what I want it to be.
Some folks mentioned providing Linux versions, and I'd like to support that. If a game has Linux versions, I'll definitely be buying from the service that provides those versions, and I'd like that service to be GOG. I understand that the support from GOG would be more limited for Linux versions of games, but to have them available is enough. The Linux gaming community is definitely strong, as is evidenced by the Linux supporters of the Humble Bundles.
In any case, I'm glad to see that GOG is supporting newer and indie games, while still holding on to the older games that we all love. Thanks for being such a great service, and keep up the great work!
Please remove the top bar that follows one down the page. I thought, at first, the bar was an Ad trying to get my attention. It is distracting and it takes up a large amount of screen real estate.

I was just going to post pretty much exactly the same thing.
I find it to be annoying as heck.
It's...beautiful... :D
