I just hope that Bioware is not going to treat the story too seriously, especially with that plot synopsis. Cheesiness has always been a key component to the charms of C&C series, and I hope that Bioware will try the setting somewhat lighthearted. I do wonder why EA decided to give Bioware a RTS franchise to work with though. With all their caterings to the FPS and action game crowd, I would have thought that that they would want Bioware to move toward those genre.

Edit: It seems that EA just simply renamed another new game development studio as "BioWare Victory" for marketing purpose I guess. I wonder if the Bioware name would be effective in attracting the RTS crowd.

ktchong: BioWare and Blizzard are now mortal enemies.

BioWare is about to unleash Star Wars: The Old Republic to challenge Blizzard's World of Warcraft in MMO.

Now BioWare is stepping on another of Blizzard's territories: RTS.
You mean Activision and EA, I hope the two fight to the death and kill each other and let the indies rise from the ashes.

GameRager: I mainly played for the futuristic setting and the awesome cast for the cutscenes.(Lando of SW fame ftw.)
I only bought the later C&Cs because of Kane (Joe Kucan).

In the near future, world leaders are mere seconds from signing a global treaty and bringing an end to war as we know it when a devastating terrorist attack rips through the peace conference, killing all in attendance. In a world left with no politicians, diplomats, or activists, only the Generals remain. It’s up to you to assume their roles, command of their forces, and put an end to global terrorism once and for all.

All-out War – Take control of three unique factions, competing for resources, building up your base of operation, and leading massive batteries of tanks, soldiers, and aircraft into battle.

Uncanny Sense of Realism – Frostbite 2 technology allows for visceral, visually stunning conflict at an epic scale. Incredibly detailed units and environments, dynamic physics, and exhilarating visual effects bring the battle to life in ways never before seen. This is the closest thing to real war without the consequences.

New Ways to Dominate or Ally with your Friends – Go beyond classic deathmatch with a selection of new multiplayer game modes, designed with both cooperative and competitive play in mind.

Thrilling Campaign – Command the war on terror in an electrifying single-player campaign. Experience the dramatic story from multiple perspectives—from heroic General to crazed terrorist—while engaging the enemy in pulse-pounding tactical combat.

Ever-evolving Experience – Enhance your game with an expanding array of downloadable content. From maps and units to factions, campaigns, and more, the fight against terrorism is deeper than ever.
/facepalm

I have no high hopes for the game.

Indeed. From the linked article:
Victory Games will be handling development as BioWare Victory.

Bioware it's just a 'label' EA puts on some of its studios, which may or may not have any connection to the 'original' Bioware, see "Bioware Social".

I wish JVC would have done Might and Magic X, oh well.
I'm not about to get my hopes up. But who knows? No sense in writing it off just yet. They might get it right. I just hope that the prettiness doesn't result in another 'RTS' revolving around a small number of units that wouldn't look out of place in a tactical game.
Dear EA: please release JVC, he worked on CnC4: Tiberium Failure too and it did not end well.

Dear Jewbisoft: please get JVC on board so he can show to those pathethic excuses of devs you have, how proper (Ho)MaM games are made.
KTHXBYE
i really liked the first generals.. soo i got hopes..

trailer looked very good graphically.. now its just a matter of how it will play..

cw8: I wonder if they'll make Tanya appear in the game for no apparent reason and we get to romance her.

StingingVelvet: Make sure to put a clear icon indicating your dialogue choice leads to romance. I don't want to answer based on what I feel like saying and then have things I didn't expect happen as a result. That would be terrible.
Bioware just announced a new feature. You can choose to become a General of Paragon or a Renegade General depending on your actions. For example, if you play as US, for every 1 GLA unit you take down, you gain +1 Virtue. You can even play as GLA and get your soldiers to fire upon one another so as to gain Virtue. Dealing with Chinese is a bit tricky. If you shoot their harmless troops like hackers, you lose Virtue, but taking down units like Emperor tanks is okay. Choices and consequences, baby.

Don't mention Virtues... I still remember that Bioware logo appears on the Ultima IV giveaway page.
I'm gonna need a better computer.
