I'll make this simple:

I have not and will not purchase *any* EA games on GOG (or any digital vendor) until (as a consistent policy) expansions are included with EA games or offered as an upgrade.

This includes EA games already released; Alien Crossfire for Alpha Centauri, etc. If an expansion cannot be released (for legal issues pertaining to rights, or for any other reason), then I expect an explanation.

I will vote with my dollar: I don't want EA on GOG if EA refuses to offer complete versions of its games. I will remain a GOG customer: GOG has displayed integrity and respect for its customers during the release of The Witcher 2, and that is enough to keep me here and trust that EA is responsible for these decisions.

It's that simple.
Oy vey.
Haven't there been a bunch of games where GOG got access to their expansions and added them later?

I don't remember people throwing huge fits over those. The only reason this outrage is going on is because the developer is EA.

Indeed, just for this thread, I'm buying both Crusader and Alpha Centauri.
hmm

nah. games are worth enough by themselves. if there is no expansion then it would be shame.

they were talking about new price point weren't they?

possibly a new price point for expansions so it will bring a game to 10 bucks?

therefore boycott is not something i agree with
Even though the expansions are not included these are still great games, and so far GOG has been very great to it's community. I don't know why I would deprive myself of these games and GOG of my money just because of some expansions that could be added later.

Yes but to my knowledge that was an odd game here and there not every one from a publisher.
Why do people complain about this? Obviously if Gog could have put in the expansions they would have, and I'm sure they will in the future.

It's hard to say whether or not they will, but people are mainly complaining because it's EA. These are hardly the only games to be offered without their respective expansion packs.
Ah yes, those incredibly successful boycotts that gamers with endless staying power manage to stick to so effortlessly.
Look at you go.
Absolutely brilliant idea !!!

If everybody adopted that attitude then GOG wouldn't sell any EA games. EA would then be entitled to declare the GOG experiment a failure, pack up their wares, and depart,

If you don't want a particular game, fine. A blanket boycott over something that GOG may already be addressing is a huge overreaction.

If we DO boycott EA then what message will they take from it? Knowing EA they won't think "Oh we need to add the expansions" they will think "See? It is not cost effective to release our old games DRM free" or something equally daft unfortunately.
Now this thread is silly. Just don't buy the stuff that should have an expansion pack until it does. It's easy!
Nobody needs your personal opinion dude.
