Whole strategy for CD Projekt group (gog, cdpr, distribution cdp) you can find here

http://www.cdprojektred.com/resources/document/Strategia_Grupy_Kapitalowej_CD_Projekt_Red_na_lata_2012_-_2015-1.pdf

Tho is in polish :D

Anyway about these "new games" i found this :
• Wejście*w*nowy*segment*– wprowadzenie*do*oferty*pierwszych nowszych*gier*(min. 20*tytułów)*
oferowanych*w*cenach*od*13,99*do*16,99*USD

So newer games , at least 20 , and with prices about as you see above 13,99-16,99$.

EDIT: word "new" i changed with "newer" becouse on that doc its described "nowszych" so it might be that games wont be "new" but still fresh or smth ;p

Newer DRM-free games... SimCity 4 Deluxe, Elven Legacy (follow up to Fantasy Wars), X series, Crazy Machines, Alpha Protocol, more Combat Mission, Airline Tycoon, ArmA 2, Sword of the Stars, The Void... It's not all crap even before you dive into indie.
Ok look i'm pretty sure that some of the "new" games we are getting are not that new, they are most likely games(from publishers they are already partnered with) that are a few years old that publishers don't want to sell at ten dollars but more. This may seem bad but I would rather see them here at slightly higher prices than not here at all plus I highly doubt we will see many games higher than $20-$30 unless we are talking really big bundles. I just don't see that taking plenty of resources personally

the only way I would worry about gog is if some big business was going to buy GOG and take over like gamestop did to impulse.

keeveek: One more thing. As you all remember , GOG.com made a survey some time ago (with prizes, i hope they will annouce winners soon) asking , among other things, if people wanted new games on gog.

And I think it turned out yes, and this is the reason they stepped forward.
We contacted the winners and disbursed prizes, I do believe. We didn't publicly state who they were.
If you plan to sell newer games, for the love of gog at least try to divide the two via a special section of the catalogue. It just makes sense.

Trilarion: I will be thrilled as long as:
- all games remain DRM free
- the effort to bring good old games here never ceases
- all new games come with goodies
- the prices remain low
- the site usability and speed and number of features is further increased

Since nothing really seems to speak against these points now I decide to be thrilled for the moment.

However one thing: Get the missing expansions from EA as soon as possible! Don't waste time with war in Russia.
Well said.

Here's a Google translate of the GOG part of the PDF:

GOG.com Action Plan for 2012
• Signing an agreement to offer older games to two, new, leading publishers of games.
• Entry into a new segment - an introduction to the first offer newer games (at least 20 titles) offered at prices ranging from 13.99 to 16.99 USD.
• The establishment of direct cooperation with the ambitious independent game developers and publishers.
The first premiere of a new title created by well-known foreign studio. The game will be sold on a temporary basis exclusively in the digital distribution channel, which is available on GOG.com before the advent of the competitors offer.

Digital distribution of games is one of the youngest and most dynamic segments in our industry. Because of this specificity, and still the changes are precisely the activities planned for the end of 2013. For the years 2014 and 2015 assume the broad lines of development, which will detail carefully watching the development of the market. As in the case of the Polish distribution business, which looks beyond the specific plans for 2012 years will be gradually revealed. This is to protect the competitive position of GOG.com. Given the above, have set for the company's goal at the end of 2013.

GOG.com goal at the end of 2013
Achieving the second position in the world independent platform for PC games digital distribution offers products in all price categories.
Further aggressive business growth in the years 2012 and 2013 at 100% year on year.
We want to achieve continuing our successful strategy by which GOG.com has become in three years the number one in the electronic distribution of classic PC games. In particular:
• We will continuously focus on our core values, with an emphasis on honesty, integrity and fair treatment of players, so that GOG.com is recognized as the most friendly digital distribution platform.
• We will work with the world's leading publishers and studios make up the best games, collectively building a new quality of digital distribution to customers.

Alas, no. There were over 18,000 entries!

Yeah! All that crap from the '90s and later makes it impossible to find the true classics. ;)

How could you do that to me, gog? :P
This may be the first conference I have a faint hope to see on my own eyes. Every other was when I was at work (and if we didn't have celebration of the Velvet Revolution, I would be working today too.)

Wasn't "DRM free" also one of the core values.... ?

Am I the only one noticing that this is missing in the press release?

That was my first thought too, but why don't they spell it out?
