Nintendo sue over security-breaking devices that allow gamers to download software from the net, and run it on consoles without buying the cartridge....and win.

Nintendo is also in discussions with Ofcom, the media regulator, on how to implement the Digital Economy Act’s provisions to counteract online piracy.

Good luck with that one - it's under discussion to be repealed as a badly-written, rushed-through parliament, over-the-top piece of legislation...

Those pesky pirates.
Thank you for the info, I'll try to remind the next time I'll use some of those smiling like a grinch....
Any source on this which doesn't require yet another login for yet another website?

This is specifically about the R4, although presumably similar devises are also covered. However, anyone who wanted one probably has onle already, so its a bit late.

Thanks. I guess that makes sense, seeing as, unlike other forms of writeable media, those circumvent security measures.
However, their support of the Digital Economy Bill sums up why I haven't bought anything from them since the SNES. Hell, even when I had a SNES I knew they were cunts.

Must be IP-locked to UK, then. I'm not registered with them, and it was freely available through Google news links.
BBC has slightly more on it : Link
A new underground market is born . . . =)
what gets me is all Nintendo is doing is advertising these things and letting people know they exist I bet sales of them doubles in the next week or two.
Heh, they can't ban SD cards on the DSi though...
I'll stick to my SNES and GBA emulators thank-you-very-much.

Hey don't ignore the PSX emulators. Gotta play some classics now and then!
