Npl: Surely a tragedy if someone gets harmed, but its onesided to just say "the police used violence". What about demonstrators throwing stones at the police, while at the same time padding the front row with kids?
Most of the time its "liberal" assholes forcing a reaction out of the police and then screaming if they get it.
True! I was at the demonstrations against studying fees a few years ago in Frankfurt and that's exactly how it went there. Some assholes provoked the police by attacking them and then the police reacted by using pepperspray and such things to fight them off. Other people got hurt innocently because they stayed in position instead of going out of the way and after that they show people bleeding on the TV and everyone says "uuuh, bad police attacks peaceful students"...

I think it's the same with many other demos where they blame the police afterwards.

Seems pretty rough the political fallout is looking to be intense. But I'm not seeing anything about deaths. I hope a mutually acceptable solution can be found as it doesn't seem like either side wants to back down.

I found this blog entry while surfing about this matter. It was a life report with videos from those demonstrations, it is from a rightwinger, but this gives all a different light:

*Mind the rightwing lingo*

Protoss: It started a few hours ago that the police used violence at the Stuttgart 21 (train station building project) demo. Rumors say, there died at least two people and one was mutiliated by a police water gun, losing an eye.

Yes because the police are always justified in opening live fire indiscriminately when one jackass throws a rock that fails to cause injury...
