already own both of these games but good luck to the entrants! :)
Well I've been blazing through the new Elric collection that was released recently, so I'll have to say for the moment that Elric of Melnibone is a pretty awesome character. It's kind of fun reading the Elric stories and seeing how it went from an inversion of the sword and sorcery tropes found in stuff like Conan into being the source of a lot of modern fantasy tropes. Really though who couldn't love a melancholy and weak albino that sold his soul to the forces of chaos.

If I win I'm only looking for Disciples 2 because I already own the first one.
Since I finished Psychonauts lately, I'll say Ford Cruller. Almost everything he says is hilarious, especially when you use your powers on him. And the whole "wave a piece of bacon by your ear to make him appear" is just so off-the-wall. The entire game is great, but since I have to choose only one, I'll pick him and his many incarnations.

I don't have either game, so both, please. (But if I had to pick only one, I'd pick the first.)
Raziel of the Legacy of Kain series.

Holy crap, has there ever been such a deeply tragic character in games -- forever manipulated and humiliated, always the pawn despite being the only character in the series capable of true free will? His father figure destroyed his life literally and figuratively, he was enslaved by a Cthulhu expy, and when he tried to defy them both he just ended up getting manipulated by a old man with the power of time travel. The person he hated most for the whole series is actually the closest thing to a good guy, and yet he's an ancient vampire warlord whose selfishness caused him to completely devastate the entire world. And in the end he merges with himself inside of a magical sword, via unintentional assisted suicide. That's tragic as all hell.

I don't think there are too many spoilers there, though they're hard to avoid in general with this series of games, and especially the two main characters.

I'd like both Disciples games. I've always loved the art style of them, but never got a chance to play the good ones (Disciples 3 is more than a little bit terrifyingly bad).

Interesting choices all around. :-)

@lord.seo: I have "The Stealer of Souls" (the first of the Del Rey volumes collecting Moorcock's Elric tales) but haven't read it. Moorcock's massive ego in the introduction caused me to shelf the book. Has been gathering dust for a while now. Worth overlooking the intro for the content? If not, it goes to a local library soon. ;-)

If I haven't missed anyone, these are the entrants so far:

01 Aningan
02 Cenccu
03 rasufelle
04 park_84
05 saramakos
06 Daedalus1138
07 xa_chan
08 Ubivis
09 lord.seo
10 adambiser
11 GhostQlyph

Good odds so far. Anyone else?

How about Friday for the drawing? Could cut it short and draw this morning, but I know of at least one forum goer who wished for one of these games but isn't on the list yet, and not everyone visits everyday.

Suits me fine - your comp, your call :)
Sure, Friday is good. A good start for the weekend when I win :D

*crosses fingers*
Yep, no problem at all about Friday! ^_^

Yeah Moorcock's essays and such can be a little much... (especially when he writes about Lord of the Rings) . But, if you love sword and sorcery style fiction the stories are must reads. Even if you're only somewhat interested in the genre Stealer of Souls is worth reading as it covers the major character arc for Elric and has some of the best of the stories.

Also, Friday would be fine for the draw.

I'm fine with Friday. Your contest, your call. :)
Yep. Friday's fine with me.
Bump for the Friday crowd. Anyone else who wants to enter, do so soon: Will draw the winner this evening.

1. My favorite would probably be Eowyn from "Lord of the Rings". I really love her, because she's strong and wants to do something that people won't let her do, and she does anyway. And her unrequited love for Aragorn is something I can relate to, and I just love her strong character.

2. Fantasyscific(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk

3. I would like the 1st Disciples, since I have the 2nd. :)
