Ian: hedwards - i always tag my giveaways with the word "giveaway". I do it deliberately as I really do understand some peeps do not like them. The update to the script, as it can now hide "user" threads is a great addition - people most probably think every thread i start is a gw (which to be fair, it usually is) - Now peeps can block my threads completely, and if they want/need me, I can always be pm'd.
Whilst we have had no hint of intention from GOG, and the script option is there, tbh - I would really like the "search feature" to be fixed.
You do, but the problem is that there's not really much consistency about it. Or at least there's inconsistency about it frequently enough for it to be a problem.
And yeah, I wish they'd fix the search feature. I'm not really sure why they're insisting upon doing their own forum software, when there's several very good ones out there.
IAmSinistar: Not been here overlong myself, so I will largely demure. I do agree with the folks who says it's nice to have everything in one basket, as that helps you discover new threads. Personally, I'd be happy if
Topics I've participated in worked a bit more intelligently, say by sorting threads with unread replies to the top, rather than whatever order it is now. I think that would help streamline things.
I disagree, having them all in one basket means that you have to be online constantly or you'll miss something. I'm sure there's tons of threads over the years that I would have participated in, but didn't see them because they were buried under threads that would normally have their own subforum.
What's more, if you don't post new threads at the right time, they tend to get buried before anybody even notices them under the more active threads.
