I just realized what I said about respect sounds like a jerk comment. Sorry about that. I didn't mean it that way.

I didn't take it that way, but if you felt it could've been then its good that you tried to make it right. Thanks. :-)

Rohan15: AWW! They are too precious! My girlfriend's mother is having another little girl and I cant wait to meet her. How old?
They'll be 18 months on the 29th. :-)

llamaboy: Yea, $15-$20 is pretty insane, especially since he buys it and all.
I thought it was pretty damn good too, but it never hurts to ask around & be sure. I'd guess he either really enjoys it or does so much other painting, that doing a mini while doing his other stuff is like nothing to him. I'll post some pics of what he's done for me later....time to feed the babies breakfast!

I have never done tabletop before and was thinking about getting into Warmachine (Cryx). I have also never painted before so I might go by the LFGS and pick out a Bonejack to try it out. I looked at the online instructions but I don't want to blow money on something.

Cute kids. Mine turned 1 yo last week. Crazy stuff.
i'm getting into w40k (ultramarines) at the moment ... the only thing that "bothers" me is that they are so damn small (like, so small i can't make out the details). othre than that: painting is half the fun imo.

orcishgamer: If you're not doing Warhammer (or anything else Games Workshop has their grubby hands on) can't you just paint yourself? I mean you don't need official colors unless you're playing a specific faction in a Games Workshop game, I think other minis tabletop gaming companies are way cooler about this.

You might have fun learning to paint that well.

overread: I wasn't even aware that GW had restrictions on the paint schemes that could be used in their games (I assume this only applies at their tourny level and not in shops or anywhere else - where you can -- paint totally as you want)
The only rule that GW has for painting in tourneys is that every mini has to be painted and there has to be at least 3 colors. There are no required schemes. But if you want to play a specific faction with in a race, then the color scheme is important. But people are free and encouraged to create their own color schemes as well.

orcishgamer: Actually they lord over shop rules too, if you let someone play Blood Ravens or whatever and they aren't painted with official paints and the official scheme you can find your supplies cut. They're serious douches about it.

overread: Hmm must be a US shop thing - I've never ever known the stores in the UK to act anything like that.
Corporate bullies are allowed to get away with proverbial murder in the US, there's not much protecting individuals or small business owners from these tactics. Even if you are in the right, legally, fighting it out in court is out of the question for some guy running a shop that makes him maybe 2000 a month over costs.

Yeah, you're pretty much going to have to find an unemployed stoner to do it for any less.
