Seems just as irrelevant as bluray discs. Bluray would have been nice if the tech wasn't so damn expensive. But last time I checked it was still $8USD/50GB disc. With the price of bluray drives, it's still cheaper to get a cheap SSD or a mechanical drive for backup purposes. Perhaps without Sony's greed involved these optical discs and drives will be cheaper to produce, but I doubt it.

yeah but they bounce, glass wont it will shatter :p
well unless its that epoxy reinforced stuff.
