mystikmind2000: I have played Neverwinter nights, and i loved that game but the re-playability is spoiled by the pre set loot (i do not like going to the same spots and knowing what i will find there each new game). And such a shame they went to such lengths with the complexity of unit development then its all wasted because they don't give players enough in game information to truly understand it.

Leroux: Btw, regarding replayability, have you ever tried to play NWN community modules? You know there's tons of them for free, right? Even if you're not interested in the story-telling stuff, maybe the Persistent World modules could be for you, because they often have random loot, too.

Then again, are you sure that the loot in the official NWN campaign is pre-set? I think it's randomized by item categories, but you may be right in that this only affects the worthless junk while more powerful story items and rewards are pre-set. In any case, the engine allows for completely randomized treasure, so it's all up to the authors, and other, fan-made modules might be more suited to your taste.

Being a D&D game, the rules of NWN are rather complicated and not sufficiently explained, that's true, but you don't really need to know all the rules to enjoy the game, and if you want to understand it better and have any questions about it, the community is usually very helpful, both in-game if you play multiplayer or on the according forums.
Oh i did allot of research on forums and builds but the big problem was that i could find no build designed for the standard campaign.... there all on about 'battle of the build', battle of the builds this, battle of the builds that, blah blah blah blah blah and when you ask questions about the campaign there like "dahhh campaign??" quite frustrating.
I remembered i had started playing DS1 as well.

It is a good game, and it is rare that i will enjoy an earlier version of a game after playing the newer version.

However DS1 insulted me and i stopped playing it. I had a big pile of loot waiting for me to pick up and take for selling but then i ran out of time and had to save and exit the game. Came back the next day, reloaded and all my loot was gone!!!!!!! That did not happen inDS2.

Did you also ask on the BioWare Social Network on the Official Campaign board? What kind of information were you looking for that you couldn't find?

Anyway, I checked out Dungeon Siege 3 today and the controls are definitely weird for a PC action RPG and it's quite clear that it's a console game, too. Moving and fighting is possible via mouse buttons, but then when you want to open a chest, you can't just click on it, but have to press "E" ... in a Diablo-like hack and slash game? What a great idea. O_o

I could not find any information on what makes a good build for the campaign, especially in relation to available equipment/weapons that you find in game. or how to best develop companions.... also in relation to equipment/weapons found in the game.

Consoles, (turns head and spits on ground)! Now i understand, making allowances for consoles ruined it, Typical (rolls eyes)

(Edit: the website would not let me reply to above post, but i can post new)
