Hmm I'm having mixed feelings on this. I guess I'll just have to live and let live.

Elmofongo: Interesting question: does people mostly play mmorpgs for the pvp or questing/exploring with your friends?

MGShogun: Mostly with friends.
then why does people complain about P2W models when they mostly concerns the PVP side of the mmo because even though I don't play MMOs that much I would mostly play MMOs for the questing, dungeon crawling co-op side of the game

It just depends on the players. For me, I prefer to play with my friends and having fun and all that jazz. But some people doesn't like to pay extra fees for the certain potions/items when one can grinding like crazy or get rare drops to get good items.

It's pure e-peen contest, which is the reason why I no longer play MMOs. People play MMOs for different reasons.
I care not. This will most likely be the Elder Scrolls game I won't be getting.
I *heard* that the game will come out monochrome. More colors will be released via DLCs.

But the game will be free, of course.

..could be cool. I think it will work if done right.

SimonG: Wasn't TES often described as a "single player MMORPG?". In most games, the lore is better than the story, so I can actually see this work.
Yup. I like how zeropunctation exclaims "this is a mumorpuger!" when doing his review or Oblivion.

Actually, I'd probably preorder the game as soon as any Swedish stored started taking preorders if it actually was monochrome. Obivously I'd ignore the colour DLC's, and I would certainly NOT preorder if said colour DLC's were a preorder bonus.

I'd have been excited to hear the next one would have co-op or even up to 3 other people able to play together in the same world. An MMO? Pass.

There isn't really a 'mostly', all sorts of people play MMOG's.

Actually i think part of the problems with many MMOG's I've played is that they try too hard to get people from all the different types of groups. They try to get PvPers, PvErs, people who enjoy open world, people who enjoy themepark, casuals, hardcores and absolutely everyone in between. In the end all everyone with a particular interest gets is a shallow experience and the thought in the back of their mind that the devs are focussing too much on all the other groups.
Not going to waste my money on it. I enjoy the single player games but the companies track record of releasing a gamr without a million bugs is nil.
While I think it could be fun to fully explore all the various areas of Tamriel again, basically an updated version of Arena, I dislike MMOs as I never know who I might end up with. Years ago when I was part of a clan we would set up LANs to play each other and then go online and it was fun because we were all in the same room and could see and talk to each other. Plus we were all military and could actually get away with practicing our Unreal Tournament and Tribes maneuvers at work as part of our normal training. When I left that group I tried various MMOs on my own and it was never much fun. The people who really wanted to work together were few and far between and I wound up with team mates who would let you die to up their own score. Maybe it's different now but I haven't touched an MMO in years, I'm not sure that even the Elder Scrolls can convince me to try again.

Make me.
Ahhhhh, MMORPG, the place where RPG franchises go to die.
