jayce75: i just bought fallout new vegas, i was playing it quite happily then pausd it to make my tea, it was used for all of 10 mins, i then turned it off to eat said tea. When i turned it back on the xbox console said the disc is unreadable, i checked the disc and there is a pause ring on it, i tried cleaning it to no avail. Can anyone offer any advice on how i might fix this prob withouthaving to buy a new game.

hedwards: You can't exchange it? I'd think that if it were that new you ought to be able to at least take it back for an exchange. i ditake it back the net day but was told i ouldnt exchange it as it was my falt the disc is now unreadable. i dont know what to do now.

Are pause rings really something which happens on Xbox? I guess I'm glad that it's not an issue on PS3.

Something seems to have gone awry with your post, I assume you weren' t meaning to just quote me in an odd way.
Trying to figure out how to do the quest in Camp McCarran where you have to catch some goings-on at the tower. I've been there at 01 am three nights in a row now, but nothing seems to happen. Tips?
Is there a printer friendly version of the map with all locations highlighted that Delixe linked? That one is a bit low on quality when zoomed, so it's probably gonna come bad on my Brother.

Well, hm, You should wait outside, hidden, at about 1:30AM one of the guys from the camp gets out of the main building and starts heading forwards the tower. Follow him. ;)
Be sure to have a stealth boy with You, if Your sneaking sucks, You'll probably want to pickpocket him later on, if Your explosives are low too. Also, be sure to talk to the guy who Hsu tells You to go to. [bad english there] ;P

Spoilers:

I think it happened to me at 00 am. Talk to some people first, then wait outside the tower at the time I mentioned. Be a little patient and probably keep a stealthboy or two ready. Just in case.
Also: Listen first. (Inside the tower.)

You can also keep an eye at the door into the terminal. (Your suspect will appear there.) Just remember to be careful and don't get spotted.

(Big spoiler: Apparently you should avoid Captain Curtis(?) according to what I have read. Though it won't actually ruin quest, talking to him.)
You can talk to Captain Curtis but don't mention the tower to him or you will tip off the spy.

Aliasalpha: I was sick of the endless repetition in the radio within 3-4 hours of play (and that johnny guitar song on 2 stations, ugh!). Its the biggest weakness of both 3 & NV for my money
avatar
hedwards: Yeah, I thought the selection was a bit weak. It's not a bad song, but it gets way over used in the game. Same goes for the one about the Texas ranger with a big iron on his hip. It's a good song, but they don't have enough songs to dilute it out to something reasonable.
Thats the other one I was trying to think of, very annoying.

You'd think the black mountain radio would have more unusual songs to reflect the strangeness of the broadcasters. I mean how appropriate would it be to hear The Monster Mash?

Not sure that there's a good solution as the game takes like a whole work week to complete if you don't know exactly how to do everything and where to go.
Good grief, after my first day's play of F:NV, I could not stop saying to myself '...oh he might of gone on living, but he made one fatal slip, he tried to kill the ranger with the big iron on his hip (big iron on his hip)...' Not a problem for me though, I love that song. The ones that really gets on my tits are 'heartache by the numbers' and 'love me as though there were no tomorrow'. Can't stand em.
I can't get enough of Big Iron. Heh.

Also, roulette is damn boring. I mean, seriously. Who the heck spends his life savings on something like that?
I'm sure somebody will come up with a mod to strip the songs out of the radio stations. The talk's the only thing that's interesting. And even that's limited.

As is the slots. It really made me question how people can be addicted to that sort of midlessly repetitive thing thats a constant money sink with sod all real reward.

Ahh then again, WoW...

Sneak into the tower. Leave your companion outside. Stay at the base of the tower, Inside the tower there's this person radioing the Fiends. For me I used a Stealthboy and stole the deactivation codes from him.

In hopes of winning the jackpot prize? But most people get greedy, once they win a little bit of money they keep playing hoping to win more until they lose everything. Or they lose right at the start and keep playing till they lose everything.

I've been to the casino in Brisbane before for tour, I played the 1-cent slot machine, hit the jackpot of 2000 credits, so I won $20 with 1 cent drop. Pretty good luck that day, pretty exhilarating too. What some people don't realise if that after u hit the prize on a particular machine, they have to switch to another machine. So I switched to another machine and won another 600 credits. $26. :P

Eh, you don't need to spend much time at it. Just boost your luck and you shouldn't have to spend much time to get mega caps on the roulette table.

Yeah but you can't boost your luck in the real world, or at least I've not seen the option when levelling myself up

If you go into gambling with thoughts about winning money, more likely you'll lose money.
