It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

There are 20 giveaway threads on the first two pages right now, unless I missed some (quite possible). It's great that people are giving away games for free, but that's an awful lot of clutter for people who aren't that interested in it, and just want to check the first page(s) for 'normal' threads. I don't know if people have reached any kind of common ground over these 11 pages, but it would be nice with a subforum, if the forum software can handle that.

Or you could just use the script to hide the threads with 'giveaway' in the title.
And then modify it to add your own keywords (like 'steam' or 'vote')
Or we could just read blue dot posts. I agree with Pangaea666. No other forum I frequent has anywhere near the amount of giveaway threads as GOG has. But apparently they are popular so if this is the way GOG wants their main forum then so be it. I can stick to the news feeds and game sub-forums.

JudasIscariot: Still, while everyone's waiting, you could install the hide giveaways script that works on Chrome (tested it myself :P) as that would be much quicker :D.
How about you gog staff use some of your time at work and make this forum better?

There are three types of threads, official, normal and question.

How about 4th, giveaway, and an option to hide those threads?

Easy solution and not too complicated to do.

Thanks a lot for not giving up! I really appreciate what you are doing! And once again I'm sorry if my comment made you feel bad.

Why? I don't get this prompt for us to formalise our statements. Ubisoft did the same thing to me when I asked them questions on their forum about their security cockup. From their perspective it was to get rid of me, is that GOG's reason for this?

What's the difference in feedback on a forum post to someone using a contact us form? If you've read it, you've received the feedback.

Good question :D

Using the feedback system gives the devs working on the forum software a central location to draw from when investigating what change, fix, or keep. I know my reply earlier may have sounded a bit brusque but I can't stress it enough that folks should use the official features in place as it keeps everything tidy.

I hope that helps :D

I see your point. However I'm not sure it will work out so well. Lets say that everyone with this argument followed your advice. You would have about 25 feedback requests asking you to change the forums to hide giveaways, and about 25 asking you to stop hiding them.

Perhaps this thread could be logged as a feedback. I understand (as a dev I really do) that it's not going to be a nice job to trawl it for content, but that's the only way to really get a useful set of feedback.

You don't have to use the client to post in Steam groups or use any of Steam's Community features - you can just use your browser. It's no different than having to make an account to post on any other website/forii, so I think you're only saying that to be verbose about your dislike of Steam and/or DRM'd digital distribution platforms.

Let me be more clear - I hate Steam. I hate everything about it, without any exception, and I'll never use it for anything. Clear enough ? :)
