I blame this entire thread on the Sith.

Just did some counting - more than a half of the first page topics is totally unrelated to giveaways.
We have: gaming, GOG, cinematography, game distribution services, new releases, music, .
We also have Ninja (which is more like a free chat - with a code drop from time to time) and some forum games - sometimes with prizes, sometimes not.
I thing we have enough pluralism in General. Nobody needs to complain.
Is there such a thing as the True Sith? There are stories - stories of something that first discovered the Dark Side. Some say it is only a myth and the True Sith is nothing more than an idea. Other say it is simply a story Sith tell their children before puting them to bed at night. But perhaps it is actually the nightmare they have afterwards.

It's morel like critique. The technical parts of this forum is rather bare-boned.

True, with this traffic we could use some sub-sections for general discussion.

Nobody here is opposed to giveaways. There are some of us that are opposed to having the better part of the front page filled with giveaways that crowd out discussion items and things of more general interest.


In most of the giveaway threads, you get to post once or twice, which means that even for people that are interested in the giveaways, they're still taking away space from the other aspects of the forum.

There are folks complaining that Mr. Gog wants us to do all posing in 1 subforum. And there's people complaining that people hate giveaways.

I have yet to see anybody complaining about the actual giveaways.

At first I thought this thread was a comment on how many male users the forum had, then I noticed I had misread one word.
Some better organization (and software) would probably help mitigate the situation.

I have to be honest here:
One of the reasons (probably the main) I don't frequent the GOG's forums more (and post more) is due to the fact that 60% (or more) of the topics are giveaways (or the like). I even considered posting a topic in the same vein as this one but discarded the idea because I foretold the same reaction it's happening here now.

I'm not opposed to giveaways (far from it). I just think we need to handle them differently (Perhaps a subforum like some of you mentioned?).

While we are discussing forum improvements, how about a customized consolidated new/updated game-specific forum topic title web feed? (run-on sentences ftw)

Specifically, instead of clicking in each individual forum title, the view would show a list of topic titles for every thread containing new posts along with the respective forum name.

Instead of blaming the posters who made those giveaways, write a request to the support ;.. like i did sometimes ago.

Yes the subforum have issue, but that's a gog issue , not the users ...>.< . I have to take a shovel to dig some threads sometimes, but i don't blame the posters who make giveaways threads..... that's ridiculous.

I doesn't support the giveaway script ....as solution (a temporary one sure, but not in the long term).
