Barkley, Shut up and Jam: Gaiden. I am really suprised, it is a Planescape-quality writing. And it is for free.

Navagon: Cryostasis tells its story very well.
How did I forget this? Listen to this guy. He knows what he's talking about.
It seems noone has posted this yet? :)

If you own Neverwinter Nights, you should definitely give the Prophet series by Baldecaran (Prologue & Chapter 1-3) a try. It has one of the most gripping stories I've ever experienced in a RPG (second only to PS:T), the pace is great (like playing a page-turner) and it's free to download.

Bastion is the only recent game (its ending to be exact) that moved me. After credits I was sad, happy, confused and angry.
Paris in the fall... I mean, Broken Sword. Without the Directors Cut !
Fallout New Vegas

KOTOR 2

NWN 2 - Mask of the Betrayer

Portal 2

Silent Hill 2

All of them games that had a profound emotional impact or really made me think; which I attribute to quality writing.
Oh, I forgot about Kotor 2. It's every bit as good as the first, and even more complex. Basically anything by Black Isle/Obsidian will probably have some great writing. I think they've done Planescape: Torment, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout 1 and 2, Kotor 2, and Fallout New Vegas, among others. They seem to pick up sequels to great games alot. They're in the middle of developing some big game right now, but I can't remember what it is.

Duh, The South Park RPG!! If you want great, hilarious writing, get this when it comes out. It's being made by Obsidian with Trey Parker and Matt Stone's help.

Paingiver: Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen and the other games in the series.

Outstanding writing. Novel quality.
Yay! I am not alone. The story and voice acting in the Legacy of Kain series is still tops in my book. I just started playing Soul Reaver 1 again, too.

I will also add:

Xenogears
Planescape Torment
Shadow of the Colossus
Portal
Mass Effect

I made a GOGMix with just that subject. I tried to justify each entry, but I'd love to hear more suggestions and/or criticisms:

The two games that spring to mind are both tied for second place in my opinion: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (note the version!). They're both about as close to Planescape: Torment in terms of writing as is possible.

I've brought up both games a lot. Well, it bears repeating.
All the games from Bioware have good writing. Also the ones made by BlackIsle (Baldurs Gate 1 and 2).
And Grim Fandango was really great.

xaemar: I just finished To The Moon and I loooved it and I cried... Planescape: Torment, The Longest Journey and Sanitarium are other games that I loved with great writing, a good atmosphere and some emotional moments.

And now, I'm looking for another game, any suggestion? Thank you!
You should play Baldurs Gate 1 and 2. They are just amazing.

Was Baldur's Gate II Black Isle? I thought it was Bioware.

Doesn't feel anything like a Black Isle title :P. To me--the RPG noob--that is.

Baldur's Gate II is Bioware AND Black Isle. Only IWD2 was non-Bioware of the Infinity Engine games, I believe.

Yes they were the publishers at that time, but they were the original studio I believe and then most of them go on to Bioware.
