Has anyone else experienced an uptick in 'ghost posts' recently? - by which I mean posts where the GOG forum software reports that there has been a recent post say 30 minutes ago in a thread/sub-forum, but when you go to the sub-forum/thread in question, the last post was hours, days, weeks, or months old. I even got a reply notification but when I clicked it, there was no reply to my post; the only two posts were the OP's and my response to the OP. This is also different from the other GOG forum oddity were it will shade dark grey threads I have never read or with new replies since I last read them. Which I suppose is almost the opposite in problem in some ways.

So are the GOG forums haunted? or is no one else experiencing this? :)

EDIT: For example, the Master of Orion forums says there was a post 40 minutes ago, but the last post was 5 hrs ago.

Maybe they have been uploading their work in progress code into the forums recently, because it seems to be getting worse! :P

Either that or it simply is hitting me and my regular threads/sub-forums more often by chance recently than it was before.

Had it with every single Advent Calendar Day I posted :)
Also, I died in november 2012.
Now that you mention it ' I also hear a fat lady sing at times whence these messages seemingly disappear'. And I thought I was going mad....

This is usually caused by the OP being downvoted. Then the thread will always be gray, regardless of whether there are unread replies or not. 'Twas always so.
I thought the forum was always haunted.
Ghost in the Shell :D
I'm not sure if this is related to the spam filter or not, but lots of newly-registered or low-rep folks have reported their posts getting eaten, even for silly things like being longer than three lines. It's possible that they aren't ghost posts at all, but that the forums are recognizing new posts that are immediately deleted.

But it could just be the forums developing their own consciousness, which is of course nothing to worry about.
I saw it happen few minutes ago.

I made post in Eador forum 3 hours ago and now I came back to check if there are some answers. I was happy to see there was post made just 1 minute ago and thought myself lucky, but when I opened the game forum there was no new post since mine.

Huh ... I hadn't made that connection. Is it grey-ed out for OPs that receive one downvote or only those that receive enough to cause the post to be hidden? Because not all the threads I've noticed this for had hidden OPs - however, a greater percentage of them did seem to be on controversial topics than the standard population.

Really ? They will update the forum next Monday ? Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. (GoG really need a sticky "site news" thread.)
